hi
I have a few questions
My english isn't so good so please be patient :)
I'm trying to learn hypnosis.I read somewhere that being hypnotised while you sleep is most effective,but somewhere else I read that it doesn't work well.So which is true?
My second problem is how to actually do autohypnosis.Should I taped myself and then play it while in relaxed state?When recording my 'speach',and since I myself will be the person listening to the tape,should I address myself in 1. or 3. person?
Or maybe I don't need a pre-recorded session?
My last question is about visualising-it's been said that hypnosis is most effective when person can visualise suggestions.So in other words,I should always try to visualise whatever it is I wish to achieve?But aren't there dangers that person could have hallucinations after he is awaken.For example-someone on this forum talked about breast enlargement.Now if you tell the patient that after she is awakened she will notice her breast are larger,won't that ...?

Since sleep is not a static state, and varies from second to second, my opinion is that hypnosis is unlikely to give any results while the client is in a state of sleep, rather than the static state we call trance.....Others have the right to disagree, but that will have no effect on my opinion.
Visualization....
Not everyone is capable of visualizing, yet everyone is capable of being hypnotised, so werever you got the idea that visualization was nescessary, I have no idea, but that statement is not correct......
How are you "learning" self hypnosis? Probably from a book I suppose, and that is no way to achieve what you want in most cases. Yes you can learn that way if willing to spend the nescessary time, but it is much better to learn from a skilled person, and certainly much faster. Written suggestions are acceptable, just read them and then enter the trance state, and see what happens. Anthony..... |

Sorry for responding so late,but I was on holydays.
I don't want to seem ungrateful,but biggest obstacle in achieving hypnosis is fear,and my fear is about dangers of visualization(among other things),and you haven't addressed the negative aspects of it.

| To avoid all danger, see a skilled practitioner, rather than practise self hypnosis on yourself without proper knowledge of those dangers. Anthony.... |

Hello,
Your best bet is to visit a professional Hypnotherapist and learn to do self hypnosis with them. Try to find one that works in your native language for the best results. Discuss with them the "dangers that person could have hallucinations after he is awaken" before the session begins so you can put your mind at ease about this.
