I'm studying in art school and I noticed that I'm starting to dislike drawing.
I'm really concern because this is my most important passion since my childhood. In every "normal" school I was drawing all the time, on everything, even before examines.
And now when I have to draw something I am doing everything to avoid it.
I was always doing this when I had to learn for school, and now I'm running from the thing I actually love to do :(
In schools I was bad student, I managed to pass everything though.
Now, I suppose it's because the professors don't really like what I'm doing - I want to make paintings on computer and they prefer things made by hands, which I dislike.
(Changing school is a problem, because I study in a foreign country and just this is already too much)
So I want to find my problem and fix it and feel good again about my passion! |

So you have an aversion behavior? The thought of doing the drawing is uncomfortable enough to make you want to do other things.
You either gotta do what they want you to do, or decide to do what you want to do and live with the consequences? |

| try a different school love, switch teachers, or teach yourself. I'm an artist at heart and you will get super creative on your own. |

My children were educated at home and led by their interests. my eldest son attended a community arts project session once a week and the leader was really happy that he was unspoiled by conventional teaching that he would have had at school. He went to college and had to conform to the traditional learning but after leaving still maintains an unconventional approach in his work.
I suspect that you feel your creativity is being thwarted by having to do things in a certain way.
Most artists as I am sure you know have had formal training before developing their own style.
If you can convince yourself to jump through the hoops for a while you will then have time to develop your style and be the free spirit that you maybe want to be.
If you can think of it in this way it may help you to accept the mundane is a pathway to fulfillment.
Try a bit of self hypnosis by relaxing and imagining yourself succeeding in completing the work and setting the standards for a bright new future. Keep the thought in yo9ur mind as much as you can. |
