Hello there,
Is there any woman out there who has tried Hypnosis to help her achieve orgasms? I am a 31yr F who suffers from anorgasmia (never achieved an orgasm). I've read books on the subject, I know my anatomy very well, I do feel sexually aroused, in fact i'm the one who wants sex more than my boyfriend, I masterbate, use sexual toys but to no avail in the climax department. It's really frustrating for me. I am seriously thinking about trying out hypnosis for my ongoing issue. I have found a hypnotherapist in Houston Texas (where i am from) and is emailed him asking several questions and what his fees are. He responded in a lengthy email and said that two sessions and a CD would cost me a whoping $300. Now, yes, i want to be cured of this anorgasmia and this i feel is my last resort, but $300 is, well, at lot money. Is there a woman out there or hypnotherapist who has had success with treating or has been treated? I would like to get some advice from posters to this forum and is $300 an OK price, or toooo expensive?

Hi. $300 for a couple of sessions and a CD is pretty normal if it is a credible hypnotist. I have seen hypnosis help this issue quite a bit actually. It can very much be mentally based and getting straight into the source of your subconscious can really produce some good results if done correctly.
Just be sure to be honest with the hypnotist and tell him or her any possible reasons why you think you may have become this way. Often embarrassing or traumatic experiences can have an influence, as can childhood experiences, depression, your relationships with prominent male figures throughout your life, physical health, emotional wellbeing etc. If you can get the hypnotist to address the source of your problem, as well as directly use hypnotic suggestion to change your patterns and processes to sex you should have good results.
If they give you a CD make sure you follow up the personal session by using the CD according to their instructions - my experiences has found this to really anchor the sessions. It may just be as simple to help stop over thinking or developing anxiety when you become sexual - it depends on your reasons.

Thanks for your reply. How do I go about finding out if this Hypnotist is "legit" one? I live in Houston Texas, do you know of any good ones out here? Can a session be over the phone?

A live, face-to-face session will be way more effective than a phone session.
If I have a family member that wants to use hypnosis (I won't work with my family members) there are a couple hypnotists I recommend to them.
In my educated opinion, what would make a hypnotist "legit":
1. working from an office (not their home, especially for this type of issue)
2. number of years in business as a hypnotist
3. analytical hypnosis (or hypno-analysis) rather than suggestion/NLP.
While I've worked with this particular issue several times with success, I tend to believe most of the women would have been more comfortable working with a female hypnotist. Which would translate into more reliable results.

Search Google, check your phone book.
You can also contact www.ngh.net and ask for referrals in your area.
Call a few. Ask for a no-cost consultation. That will allow you to get an impression of the person. Make sure you are comfortable with them. If they are too-cool-for-school and don't offer a consult, find someone else.

Thanks so much for the info. I have contacted several female hypnotherapist in houston and in austin texas but only one replied and said she did not work with Hpno-Orgasm situations. and as male hypnotherapists only two replied back, one is in houston with an office and the other one is in New York and wanted to do a phone session. I'll look into the links you sent me to find hypnotherappists. Yes, working with a woman would be way more comfortable but by the looks of it there aren't too many out there. I would be willing to drive to Dallas but only if you really think that person is really really good and would be helpful to me : P
Once again, i'll look into all the info and links you gave me and will call the few that responded : P

| ps----Which form of hynotherpay do you think is best: hypno-analysis or than suggestion/NLP. I guess by the sounds of it, it would be hypno-analysis?? Myabe I need to read up on this. |

Yes, I believe hypno-analysis is better. I've done both and my clients have a better success rate with it. It includes techniques like 'affect bridge age regression', gestalt/chair-therapy, and parts-therapy.
The hypnotist I've met in Dallas... I am not able to give an opinion on their work, so can not recommend them as "THE ONE". :] |

| I do have experience with exactly this problem and I live in Texas. At this time I am traveling the country, but I will be home in December if you don't mind waiting that long. I do have experience with parts therapy, regression and several other useful tools for your issue plus the all important experience.
