Hi,
I recently had a hypnotist come into my school and i was chosen to be a volunteer. Most of the people around me drifted off into a hypnotic trance, but I was unable. Discouraged and frusterated, I went to the internet to try to find any self hypnosis videos to try to feel what the trance felt like. I again failed.
If you can let me know if my mind is too wavering or whatever that would be awesome. I am wanting the hypnosis to work and I block out everything outside and concentrate on my breathing and relax, but all i feel is me sitting there with my eyes closed no matter how "deep" I go. Someone please help me to get into the trance stage. |

Ok, first off, YOU did not fail. There is a learning-curve to doing hypnosis. How long that curve is depends on several things:
What are your expectations of being hypnotized?
What hypnosis inductions would work best with your personality (eye fixation, like the video, work fine for some, but not for all).
I've found some Rx meds my clients are on make hypnosis more difficult, while others make it easier.
Any potential fears of being hypnotized.
Everyone is in some level of hypnosis for around 75% of their day. We do it all the time unintentionally.. it's just how the brain works. Doing hypnosis on purpose is generally more calming and relaxing, but not always.... your expectations will play a large role in how hypnosis works for you. |
