Hey guys, I'm new to the forum looking to see if any expert out there on NLP, hypnosis, subliminals can help me out.
I've been using subliminals from [an online web site] since February. I started out with a 30 minute track and had a lot of success with it. In May, I started using a 6 month program, the track is an hour and 17 minutes long, you go from track 1 for month 1, track 2 for month 2, and so on. In the beginning, I had 'special resistance', I would feel shaky and nervous while listening to the track. I ended up listening to it anywhere from 12-20 hours a day (ultrasonic). The program dealt with social anxiety, self-esteem, approaching women, approaching others, and being an all around social, fun guy. I've always had severe social anxiety so it's no doubt that I had resistance to this. As I got further into the program (around month 3), I started to get it really bad. This stage started dealing intensely with social anxiety and I was having problems going out. I've had anxiety my entire life to the point I had random twitching and tremors. However, this got to the point I could hardly lift a glass and drink because I was so shaky and tense. I became extremely self-conscious and couldn't go to school for weeks, I was terrified of being in public. I would have random panic attacks 2-3 times a week and had slight paranoia at times. I stopped that program and decided I would work another 6 month program to deal with my confidence (the owner recommened to do that one first). My anxiety started to go away mostly, however, I would still get random panic attacks (1-2 per week) and feel like I was dying, shortness of breath, and chest pain (typical panic attack symptoms). I'm now 3 weeks into that program and last week Saturday I added in an Overcome Anxiety program, designed to let go, release, and disconnect from the anxious response. The first 4 days were fine, I was able to let go, relax and had little anxiety, the 2 days after that, I had frequent panic attacks and shortness of breath, paranoia, etc 24/7. I'm on day 6 right now.
The owner of the site seems to think I have some sort of inner fear that is causing this to happen. He believes I'm experiencing severe resistance and he and I both believe it has to do with fear of control. The entire time through the programs I have been impatient at times, I've been pushing myself consciously to change and thought about the program non-stop, I just couldn't let go and let it do it's work. I couldn't allow myself to relax and let it do it's work, I always felt like consciously I needed to control it, I had to know what was going on at all times and understand what changes were occurring. I felt at times, I had 'performance pressure' that I had to live up to the program or something.
I'm just wondering what everyone has to say and if you believe this is just anxiety and I can overcome it with the anxiety subliminal or if you know it could be another issue causing so much resistance.

Hey Guys,
The past few months I've been using subliminal cds to change my beliefs. I've used many to increase my confident, self-esteem, etc. They have worked quite well for me but I've always had conscious resistance. I started doing a 6 month, 6 stage program which ended up with me putting too much expectation on the subliminal, I couldn't let go, I had to always think about it and think about the changes it was putting on me on a daily basis. I started developing panic attacks which I think was due to the anxiety that came up and my cigarette addiction. I'm now working on getting this fixed. I am using an Overcome Anxiety subliminal which is helping with the anxiety and I'm 4 days in cold-turkey. Now I want to really overcome this resistance and learn to let go so I can continue using the previous subliminal.
I think my problem lies in letting go and allowing change to happen naturally, releasing all expectations, and allow myself to loose control to the present moment, knowing that everything will be ok, and I will be successful. If I can get over these things, I can do just fine, I believe.
Here are some affirmations I have come up with that I hope to use with computer flashing software, I'd really like more suggestions, advice:
I now let go of all expectations I now flow freely and lovingly with myself I now live in the moment I now focus my awareness in the present I now completely let go of all expectations and live in the moment I now and forever, absolutely and completely stop sabotaging myself I now fully and completely accept that I deserve to succeed I now absolutely know that I can and will succeed It is safe for me to give up control I allow myself to relax in the present I release the need to know what I'm going to do next This moment is my life. I am living my life now. Happiness is a choice. I choose to be grateful and enjoy this moment. I trust that I can overcome any challenges presented to me I now fully and genuinely accept that I am absolutely worthy of success I now fully and genuinely choose to succeed I now absolutely know that I can succeed |

A fear is a 'belief' in your mind. A neural-pathway formed and, based upon how this belief was formed, and how it has been reinforced, a belief/behavior/etc can become VERY strong. A 'sheath' forms around the neural connections making them more stable, and less likely to change. The corresponding emotional reaction (neural-peptides) are triggered and released about 1/2 a second prior to your conscious mind being AWARE they are released. They can over-ride anxiety medication AND suggestion hypnosis/NLP/whatever.
Suggestions that oppose/conflict with dominant currently held beliefs can exacerbate the belief and it's associated emotions.
Of course it's resistance.. but not in the way the owner of the site is suggesting. It is NOT some kind of flaw on your part. It a behavioral situation that this guys hypnosis system is not able to overcome. Sometimes the targeted behavior is too strong for suggestion/NLP hypnosis. You are trying to change this behavior "indirectly" with the audios.
Analytical hypnosis addresses a behavior directly, then uses suggestion to reinforce.

I must agree. This is a situation that needs an interactive approach. It sounds like you are reinforcing your issue with the audio files rather than addressing the underlying reason. Quite frankly, there will never be a file that can do that. It is a give and take situation to do that sort of therapy and no two minds being alike, it is impossible to script the hypnotist's part in it.
I would suggest seeking out a valid hypnotherapist for an extended series of sessions. If you apply the same dedication to letting someone help you that you have applied to these files, you will find your relief. |
