I have been trying to hypnotize myself for a while now on and off. Whether I am alone in my room, or listening to a recording, whenever I start to feel relaxed in the slightest I start laughing uncontrolably... not that I mind it too much, but it does end up breaking my concentration and it feels like I am missing out on "going deeper".
What do you think? |

I think sooner or later, the laughter will subside and you can "go deeper". |

I suspect that you're not entirely convinced within yourself of your training. I've seen similar situations in the past, and it's usually rooted in factors such as a lack of family support ("Why are you learning that?", "It's silly", "What a waste of time", and so forth) or just a lack of self-belief. I would suggest as the poster above me has said - just stick with it, keep going, and eventually this little obstacle will reduce.
The key is to Try Try Again, as the saying goes. Good luck! |

Laughing is fine. It's going to have some emotion associated, which allows room for greater depth. "every time I laugh I go even deeper relaxed." |

I use the laughing deepener that Patrick mentioned anytime I have someone start laughing during the induction or deepening process. It works very well, and laughter is good, it is good for you to laugh, though is can be challenging during the actual induction process. Set your intention that you will NOT laugh, intention is very powerful, and can assist a great deal. |

I suspect that most hypnotherapists have had clients start to laugh at the beginning of a session; usually they are just a bit nervous as it is likely their first time. I simply tell them that laughter is good as it helps to relax them. Laughter releases endorphins into the body which do indeed help us to relax, and in addition laughing alters our breathing to a quickened pace, often taking many breaths of vastly different lengths. This helps us to relax by filling our blood with oxygen.
I agree with the other posters, that the laughing will soon subside, but until then... enjoy it, laughter is good! |
