Thing about affirmations is that there is a part of the brain which may deny it:
"I love exercise"
"no I dont"
Like that.
According to an NLP guy (one who has sold a lot in the field of NLP for atracting the opposite sex) an affirmation is far more effective when the word "I" is substituted by the word "You"
So...
"You love exercise"
Would work better.
What about this then... Imagine i want to make some self hypnosis recordings to play in my car (joke) no in my bedroom.. The objective we can say is to heighten my confidence when in a group.
The script would be along the lines of:
"You radiate a wormth and confience that people find attractive, You feel perfectly at ease in company of both sexes, speaking to people is so easy for you..."
You get the idea. Well firstly what do you think of the "you" technique that Ross Jeffries proposes? And also would you use another method ie questions? I dont know.. When it comes to affirmations is there another technique that you guys are using?

| First of all, though there is nothing wrong with your questioning a particullar method of promoting change, there are two things you should understand. First of all, it isn't hypnosis,and secondly it depends on the person. Some will react to one method best, while another will preffer something different. We are not all alike, so find what works best for you. I am surprised that you are not asking the "NLP guy" about this, since you seem to be using a method of change he promotes, rather than one we are most likely to have greater knowledge of, which is hypnosis, NLP et al.....Auto suggestion requires no skill, just patience and a regimen, and works well for some. |
