| I have a throat problem, like the feeling something is there, keep trying to swollow to get rid of it.Have had this problem for almost 4 years now.I do get relief when I am completely relaxed, like having a massage. I don't know what to do for this condition. Have had all medical testing done, they find nothing. Would Hynosis help? |

| Yes, seek a local and qualified practitioner. Ask for regression to cause first, then removal of symptoms if this seems advisable when cause is known.... |

Dear mis-rosie,
Since the medical tests have not indicated any organic problems, it is very likely that your difficulty may be caused by chronic stress or anxiety.
Hypnosis can definitely help, probably more than any other type of therapy. Find a properly qualified practitioner, describe your presenting problem and he or she will ask you all relevant questions regarding the history of the symptoms, when and how they appear, etc.
After that, your therapist will use the appropriate therapy approach and technique, or combination of techniques, according to his or her specific training and orientation, to help you with your problem. Regression may or may not be the type of therapy indicated, that will be determined by your therapist.
You simply don't walk into a therapist's office and order a "regression" or anything like that, like you walk into a diner and order a hamburger. It is the therapist's job, if he or she is properly qualified, to determine the type of therapy that will work best for your specific problem. |
