I was curious as to whether hypnosis can be used as a sort of view-only time travel within one's own lifetime. I'm not talking about past-life regression - I'm talking about using hypnosis to revisit one's childhood, or some specific event that occurred in the past. Is it possible to use hypnosis to sort of look at one's own past from different angles and revisit previous events in order to gain a new perspective? I am very interested in this, and any info would be great.

Hi Doc Bono
The simple answer to that question is "Yes" can you remember what you did on your last birthday, well that's the most direct way to go about personal life feedback loops, if you could see here and feel that event over there, what would that event look sound and feel like over their,if you could see your past on a tv screen and you could control all the funtions with a remote controle, how could and would you like to see hear and feel your life in a different way.
This just a very very simple way to use what you have, to do what you want.
If you want any specific informion about what you could do with this stuff just post a massage on the board. |
If it has consciousness it's already in a trance. |

Actually you ARE talking about "past-life regression." Recently this term has come to mean visiting past lives we may have lived previous to this one. This is great for Hypnosis for those who believe in reincarnation in some form. Perhaps that should be really called Previous-Lives Regression or something like that.
In Forensic Hypnosis this type of review of a past-life event is used successfully all the time to get details about the scene of a crime, get the digits of a license plate number, etc. Many times by revisiting the past-life event "as though watching a video recording of it" you can slow down or even stop the action and take note of everything your mind recorded while the actual event occurred. Many details can surface this way and they have proven dramatically, time and time again to be real life facts.
For example: Two witnesses to the same hit and run accident scene claim to have no similar recall of the car type or license plate number but under hypnosis in two separate controlled sessions, both the license plate number and make, model and details of the car lead police to the owner’s house where they find the damaged vehicle.
Visiting childhood events many times helps the Hypnotherapist to get to the root cause of a person's problems. This is pretty standard for most overweight, sexual and phobic conditions. Revisiting these times when something made a wrong and lasting impression on one's life can be very rewarding to ultimately overcoming the issue. This type of journey normally needs a Hypnotist as guide to take you along the revisit. Although I am sure there are a handful of very talented self-hypnosis people who could do this type of travel themselves, most likely the help of a talented Hypnotherapist can and will make your trip easier and more worthwhile. It is like having a guide to take care of the details so you can just go along for the ride.
The down side to all of this is the human imagination. With a healthy imagination, some people can view “what they want to see” instead of the reality of what really happened which is why hypnosis sessions are in most cases not admissible in a court of law. This also explains why so many different women were all Cleopatra in their “Past-Life Regression” sessions. But here again with a talented Hypnotherapist at the controls, even these false views of “what they want to see” can be used in a positive way to help the client reach the desired outcome. For in the end the client sees what they want and ultimately, in most cases, what will help them come to terms with their own issues.
Hope this helps,
