Hi All,
I was hoping someone who knows about hypnosis might be able to help me.
Basically I have had an awful life, and have had for a long time now (I'm 26 but have gotten nowhere with girls, career, friends etc, primarily due to introversion in my youth). But for the last 1-2 years I have been engaged in a large amount of self-improvement (sometimes to the point of exhaustion), with aim to achieve some happiness in my life.
However my problem is the lingering pain from the contrast between my past and the past of other men (i.e. how much more joy they had, how much more successful they have been, versus my horrendous and empty life during my youth).
So my question is: is it possible for hypnosis to allow me to forget pretty much everything in my past? Ideally I would like 'induced amnesia', but perhaps that's wishful thinking :)

Hi,
It sounds like you are finding that some memories of your life in the past are painful and you would like to forget them.
While hypnosis won't help you to forget, it can help you with the pain, so that those memories don't feel so bad, or feel more resolved.
The reason painful memories come back to us is because there is something in them that needs to be resolved, worked out or finished, so that the pain or other emotions can be released. Then the memories can be forgotten.
So, in essence you can do what it is you want to do with hypnosis, just not in the way you imagined.
