I know there is a past life regression section already...this has to do with regressing in this life, I guess. I don't know much about hypnosis, but I know it's the only way to reach what I need to know. Several years ago I had a missing time experience and I am getting a little desperate at recalling the details of that episode. It is very important to me. Are there any ways to do this sort of regression on one's self, or with the aid of a close friend? I am sure there are those of you who will not recommend this action, but I am hesitant about sharing what might come from the past. |

Hi smb
This sort of exercise should ONLY be undertaken with the help of an experienced hypnotherapist. The information can be recalled in a safe and comfortable way, but needs to be done in a particular way in case there is some strong negative emotion attached to the event. This is where the experience of a good hypnotherapist comes in. No need to worry about sharing, any theraist worth going to will treat all and any information in confidence anyway. Find someone experienced, and good luck. |

Subconscious mind is a realm of emotions. Therefore you can track missing bits and pieces of information by following the thread of emotion.
For example, if in your daily life, you've misplaced an object and are attempting to find it, one way to do that is by remembering the last time you handled it, or the last bit of information you have about it and then let it guide you. We remember things in clusters of information - which may be visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc. so bringing to your awareness any part of that cluster will trigger out the rest.
You can, of course, suggest to yourself that the information you desire will come to your awareness and then allow any impressions you receive to emerge into your conscious awareness. You may also program your mind for such information to be revealed through your dream.
One thing I'd like to mention is that memory may be creative and not always based on facts, but rather on our interpretation of events. Sometimes events that actually occurred may get intermingled with bits and pieces of information from other sources - altering the memory, resulting in our being convinced that something happened which actually did not. |
