The title says it all really.
I've got so many issues I don't know where to start.
The last few weeks I've been looking at myself, and my life, and really wanting to get a handle on things, some things that have been there for years. But the problem is, I don't know where to start.
for example, I want to lose weight, so do I get a weight loss download, but I know with long term weight issues, it can be caused by low self esteem, so do I go for that, or exercise, or motivation, or procrastination or stopping self sabotage etc etc etc
I want to get my house in order, I've seen dl's for "enjoying housework" so do I start there, or again, motivation, procrastination etc, but wait..... the state of your house is a reflection of the state of your mind, so again, do I go into organisation or self image, or......
I also have depression, do I start with that, but wait,..... getting the house sorted, can make you feel better, and give you a starting point
I don't really know how I am, I married young, had kids young, have been a caregiver for my son with aspergers, my daugther had a baby at 17, my husband (44) moved in with a 24 year old girl from work, after 22 years of marriage this is not a "woe is me" story, it's simply a catalogue of events
Now my husband has gone, and my son is getting better at handling his life without me, I need to get a job, but I've done nothing since I was 21, except look after my kids.......
All these things in my life need sorting, but I honestly don't know where to start... yes I know I'm a basket case, but if anybody has any advice I'd be eager to hear it |

Julie,
Start with the self-confidence, cleaning house, exercise stuff.
Those are the starting points for everything else you described in your post.
Do NOT be TOO focused on the weight on it's own. It is a symptom of the other stuff, so focus on those other things. When the other things (self-conf/depression/exercise/home) improve, then put more focus on the weight.
To put too much focus on the weight prior to those things being sorted will just be frustrating. |

Oh, also, is there a rough guideline on how many "issues" to work on at once? for example, you mentioned 3, if I listened to dl's on those 3 items each day, would that be too much? |

If it would be too much can depend on the audios... The three topics I mentioned would be focused on the same issue - self-confidence.... the house being cleaner would help this progress, as would exercising.
I can not answer your question, on if it would be too much, with much reliability.
In a general sense:
If you have the time and drive to commit to this change, use all three for a week or so and start the exercise and housekeeping. After a week or so, see if you can cut back to two audios per day w/o losing the momentum of exercise and housekeeping. Then after two or three weeks, see if you can cut it back to one audio per day.... If you start losing momentum, then make the adjustments that will get you back on track. |

I hope it's helpful.
It is very good, and important, that you are motivated to do this work. It may not be easy, but, persistence will pay off.
Audios can be very helpful. If you are not seeing the results you want from the audios, it can be even more helpful to explore seeing a hypnotist face-to-face, as this will allow much more individualized help and support. |

You are a lot more qualified for the workforce than you think. If you can handle all those years with kids you can certainly be an Office Manager/Administrator, manage any Starbucks/McDonalds type franchise or be a Governor/Senator!
Good luck with your forward progress. |

Hi Julie In addition to the recorded tapes, another thing you could do is think about how you want things to be and really concentrate on getting every detail well defined then spend some time each day feeling the emotion of the situation you have created for instance how would you look, feel, act, if you were confident. The more you do it the easier and more readily you will be able to bring the experience to the fore of your mind. It's like practicing something only mentally instead of actually doing it physically. It's quite effective and did you know that experiments have proved that just imagining exercising a finger several times a day for a period of time actually showed the muscles getting stronger and bigger. Many other similar experiments have shown good results too. Athletes use this kind of thing all the time to win races or beat their records. Good luck and let us all know how you get on. |
