Hi guys,
Im new here and only recently heard about the benefits of hypnotherapy. I hope this is posted in the right area, I know ill be asking too many questions and hope its a welcoming forum.
I have posted this in a couple of places, and great getting other peoples opinions and listening to other peoples theories.
I also want to say, I know hypnotherapy isnt the cure or anwser to everything and will be working hard.
Im a martial artist, I teach it for a living, i also use to train and had plans on competing. I injured myself with a sports hernia and groin tear. I had an operation and a bumpy few years, but it looks like im physically getting better.
So I guess my first question is. Im looking for a sports hypnosis and wondering if you guys can help me find one in london, or England, Ive looked on the web but wondering if theres any names you recommend.
Iv been reading about it and heard quite a few fighters are doing it with great results, helping with motivation, focus, learning etc. Fighters like chael sonnen and GSP are good examples. Iv always tried to stay ahead of the game, learning and training smarter.
Im mostly interested to see if there is anyone in the uk with a background in zen or teibetian yoga. People that are interested and have a background with subconcious mind information.
It is always something Ive been interested in with my background in martial arts, always wanted to train the mind along with the body. I believe it will make me a better martial artist.
Another thing I would like get help on is my confidence. Since my op and being injured, it messed me up for 3 years, kept reinjurying, it effected my hormones. I feel social anxiety sometimes, always concious of what i say or act like, Ive lost my confidence talking to women. I went through depression and frustration while injured. It changed me as a person.
Hope you guys can help me find someone.

p.s anyone know anything about hynosis helping with lucid dreaming? I guess with hynosis being connected with the subconcious mind, and the same with lucid dreaming. Could hypnosis help with becoming a better lucid dreamer? |

I know of a guy in Manchester that might be good, but that is a ways from you. The guy I know in London does not do much with sports as far as I know.

Im willing to travel for this kind of stuff.
How does it work with skype, is it not as effective? I thought you'd need some kind of physical touch or presence.

I had a client towards Anglia who went to Adrian. She was happy enough, but had trouble making the trip for subsequent sessions.
For the goals you stated, skype hypnosis would probably be fine. You'd want to confirm that with with the particular hypnotist you're talking with, along with expected results, etc..
From the list of goals in your post, I'd be comfortable enough with Skype, and I know Genviev would be as well. She has a larger focus on sports.
Adrian would be a good choice as well, though I do not believe he offers a Skype option. |

And since I'm on the topic - the London guy, John Butler, is a very good hypnotist. He was a co-teacher with the late Gil Boyne.

Different hypnotists, with different training and direction, will excel in different areas.
What I mean by that is best put this way -
Read what you can on these three, and any others you might come across. Then, contact them directly to get more info, find the person you feel will best fit what you want out of the process. |

So is it ok to be hynotized by different hynosists? as in its not dangerous? |

| Yes, it's completely fine. Just be aware that hypnotists can have widely varied techniques, but they are all supposed to get to the same mental state. |
