Hi everyone. I've been trying self hypnosis for a while and feel like I've entered a light trance but I always fail to make any suggestions work. Even the hand clasp test of not being able to seperate my hands.
Does anyone have any tips?

These types of tests are really for the Hypnotherapist to use during a session. It is very hard for someone who is doing Self Hypnosis to let go and allow the test to apply when they are busy being in control of the entire process.
I am going to send you a link to download my Audio MP3 Program that uses Hypnosis to teach you Self Hypnosis. Just relax and listen to it every day for about 20 days or until you feel you have mastered the trigger to get you into the trance state. Give that a try and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the link. I notice it's not free :p. Just so I know where my money is going before I part with it. After practicing with it, how deep into a trance does the mp3 take you?
Here comes the dumber question, would I be able to test it with something like the hand clasp or ballon test afterwards? |

When you are teaching yourself hypnosis, it is better to pretend until it takes on a life of its own. Looking for proof or evidence while you are doing it is the worst thing you can do.
As for the hand clasp, the trick is in the fact that with most people the knuckles are the widest parts of the fingers. So clasp your hands together and the knuckles tend to get in the way of sliding your fingers apart. As long as you leave your fingers close together there will be resistance to separating your hands. You will have to let your fingers spread out. It gives you physical support for the idea that your mind is creating a real effect.
