I've probably listened to and watched 20 hours of hypnosis videos/tapes yet none of them seem to be able to get me into a trance...
I always find my self distracted by either a random thought or itch on my body.
I do get very very relaxed and a very heavy feeling but i cant seem to get any further!
Please help me! I want to know what hypnotism and trance state is actually like! |

Hello BG,
Welcome to the forum. You have already been in a trance - you probably just didn't realize it at the time. Have you even been driving, sort of zoned out while being totally in control and looked up to find that you had passed your exit a ways back? You were in a trance state. Most people go in and out of the trance state many times a day. Thinking and you stare off into space or reading a book and suddenly realize you didn't read any of what you were looking at.
Most people make the mistake of trying to hard to reach trace, when in most cases the trying is what keeps them from relaxing into it.
Best bet for you is to find a few local Hypnotherapist, call around and compare prices and then have a real session. Any good one can also help you reach self hypnosis on your own within your first visit using a trigger that will put you right into the zone.
You can find a list of Hypnotherapist right here in HOL at the Listings database - click the "Total Current Listings: 2361" link at the top upper right of the home page to see them all.
Good luck. |

Most people are in different levels of trance for around 3/4 of their day. It's not a big deal to achieve.
Doing it on purpose can take some effort and practice. Like Hypno Doc said, quickest and easiest way to get things going is see a reputable hypnotist to teach you. |

Bggillmore, You might have an unrealistic expectation as to what trance actually feels like. You might also be defeating yourself by trying to make the trance effects happen instead of just noticing them when they do. Trance is about automatic reaction...not willful compliance.
I hope that helps you John |
