Hello everyone. I am in the process of making hypnosis recordings for myself. The whole reason I wanted to learn hypnosis was so that I could use it on myself to better my life. Now I understand that I can only stick to direct suggestion recordings because other advanced therapies require someone else guiding me and I'm fine with that.
I just finished the basic & advanced courses from Gerry Kein and I have to say that I feel very confident in my understanding of hypnosis now. I've also studied some of Milton Erickson’s work. I have successfully hypnotized two people using rapid inductions I learned in Mr. Kein's course.
My first question is: Can I record a rapid induction for use with myself to bypass my own critical factor? I don't think it would work because that requires surprise but I'm curious because I’ve had trouble falling into trance with my own recordings.
The second question is more important for me. I made one session already using the Elman technique and I feel like I failed at going into hypnosis. I have been hypnotized professionally once before and I was no where near as relaxed. Even knowing that my suggestions for healing were good, I still felt I hadn't achieved proper CFB and I don't feel I accepted my own suggestions.
I'm very analytical and I would really appreciate some guidance on how to make a good hypnosis track for myself.
Thank you very much for reading and I can't wait to read your responses. |

Yes, you can record a rapid induction, like a Elman that Kein probably taught you. There is a difference between rapid and instant inductions. You are referring to instant inductions that require some sort of surprise to create critical faculty bypass.
An Elman takes maybe 5 minutes to do. Using and Elman and deepening I teach my clients an induction of a few seconds using a post-hypnotic. I use this for myself as well.
Recording and instant induction for yourself would most likely be a waste of time. Hard to create a surprise if you're the one you're trying to surprise.
Add some distration/confusion deepening to your recording. Kein should have given you some of these. |

I learned from a video series put out by Kein and there were no distraction/confusion techniques on there.
Also, I meant to post this earlier, I remember the hypnotist I went to saying that nobody but a qualified person could hypnotize me. I thought to myself consciously, I'm not accepting that. Could I have accepted that subconsciously and could I be sealed off? |

It's possible.. but seals aren't real stable to begin with and are easy to get around.
Self-hypnosis can be difficult for overly analytical people to learn. Best bet is to get a 'qualified' hypnotist to teach it to you. |

I'm looking into seeing the lady you referred me to in my other post, so thank you for that.
Is there anywhere you can point me to that has info about confusion/distraction techniques? |

Anything that will keep your analytical/conscious mind occupied/overloaded. I've heard the conscious mind is able to process around 126 bits every 1/24 of a second. After that, it sort of stalls and you have CFB. This one is OK and free - click here

Wow, that's a good induction. Just reading it made me very relaxed. |
