Hiya,
I have had confidence problems all my life and get scared when faced with difficult situations, and confrontations, and what usually happens is I don't handle them and let the 2nd party walk all over me.
This has come to light even more just lately, as my marriage is hitting a rocky patch, my wife is a VERY confident and strong woman and sometimes I feel like i`m treated as a doormat if the marriage has to come to an end the i`d like thew confidence to do it as at the moment I don't feel I do, the same is to be said for work, my line manager again a VERY confident guy, sometimes speaks to me as if i`m a child.
I have spoken with a local hypno-therapist about this he said that, he could give me the confidence but, maybe the marriage was only working because I wasn't as confident as her, I was also concerned of a dramatic change in my demeanor. The therapist also suggested a book by Paul Makenna called how to change your life in 7 days, I have tried self hypnosis recording before and iv had VERY little success so i`m not sure exactly how much use it would be.
can anyone offer any advice? |

Find a different hypnotist.. one that practices analytical hypnosis. Suggestions are not going to be enough to change things for you. You'll probably have to address the behaviors directly rather than indirectly (suggestion hypnosis and self-hypnosis).
I'd also suggest longer term counseling... possibly before the hypnosis so you can accurately zero-in on the behavior components to target.
If you are more confident, it will take some significant adjustment on your wife's part to accommodate that shift. But it's possible...again, some sort of couple's counseling might be helpful.
Use the counseling to target the behavior problems and for long term support. Use the analytical hypnosis to quickly and effectively change the specific behaviors. |

| Listening to hypnosis recordings and working with a good qualified hypnotherapist are 2 different things. I agree with Patrick that perhaps you need to find another hypnotherapist to work with, interview them, ask them how long they have been in practice and what are their specialties. |

| From what I understand about confidence, you would need to do some regression work to successfully heal yourself. Confidence is not a direct suggestion fix. I would recommend finding a hypnotist who can help you fix the source of the problem and then I too would recommend counseling because it's going to change the relationship you have with your wife. |
