I have tried mulitiple times to hypnotise myself and so far is hasn't worked for me. Specifically I have been trying to do a past life regression, though I have also tried some self help in the past. My only result is feeling frustrated. I have been using a script I found of the net. Basically it takes you through relaxing your body one part at a time then takes you down a stair case to deepen your state on relaxation and so on... Any way when I get to the part about going back to a past life nothing happens. I don't know if I'm too distracted or if another method would work better for me. Perhaps, when I make my recording I am speaking to fast? I don't believe I have ever been in a hypnotic state but its hard to say? I feel on some level that have had many pasts lives but so far I have been unable to access them. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

| If self-hypnosis could be mastered simply by reading a script, there would not be very many hypnotherapists. Learning to hypnotize yourself is only the first step--getting results by effecting change is really what it is all about. You have been misled by web site hype. Find a qualified, experienced hypnotherapist and change your life. |

I agree with Mark- that you should go and see a professional- doing a present life regression does not need much trance as you can just ask yourself- what can I remember from being such and such an age-
Yet doing past life regression- is a deep trance skill- and even though- there are ways- to go this alone- if you have not set up- safety boundaries- you can create all kinds of psycho-emotional issues for yourself- just consider this- you do a journey and you land in a time and place where you are being hanged- and you don't have a guide to move you past that emotional event- and you brought that emotional event back with you- this is why just sometimes- you really should seek professional guidance.

| It'll take time to use hypnosis on yourself. Try customizing the script based on your specific needs. Also use your name in between so that you know the suggestions are directed at you. |

Okay, this is just an amateur reply. If you are new to hypnosis, perhaps this skill is a little ahead of you at the moment.
You might want to start out doing some simple things under hypnosis, like imagining a white balloon which you can draw closer or send farther away with your breath. (simple visualization skill)
After you've mastered a simple skill like that, try something a little more advanced like giving yourself a post-hypnotic suggestion. Something like "I notice the color RED a lot more these days" and see if you start noticing the color red a little more often.
I always believe you should learn to walk before you can run (although some don't know any better and run right away - good for them!).
But for average people like you or me, it's better to build confidence with simple skills.
If you really want to try past life regression right away, then perhaps paying a hypnotherapist wouldn't be a bad idea. While your at it, ask them to help you with your self hypnosis skills.
After all, if you'd like to use hypnosis daily or weekly, it's going to be cheaper if you learn the skills then always depend on paying someone else. |

While it is possible for some to achieve a trance state on their own or perhaps listening to a recording, the very best way to learn self hypnosis is to work with a qualified hypnotist. I teach most of my clients slef hypnosis and provide supporting materials to them so that they will be able to achieve the state on their own. In addition, I have them follow my insructions to enter the hypnotic state on their own 3 or more times before they leave the office. This is the very best way to learn self hypnosis.
