I'm an 18 year old female. Ever since I can remember, I've been terrified to sleep at night. It's gotten to the point where I can only sleep during the day, forcing me to drop out of high school and get my GED. I've tried sleeping with the lights on, sleeping with a knife under my pillow, I've even begged my parents (both police officers) to let me keep a gun in my room. They of course, refused. Every time I try to sleep when it's dark out, I start shaking and sweating. I can't be in a room alone with the lights out. Every noise I hear sounds like someone breaking in. And if I do manage to fall asleep, I have terrible nightmares that cause me to wake up screaming. I don't have any past traumas, at least not that I know of. Does anyone know if hypnotherapy would help me? |

I really think hypnotherapy can help. It would be a good idea to find the best , most qualified hypnotherapist you can who has experience in the area you are having trouble in. |

I am sure that this type of condition has to take its toll on your life goals. Most conventional therapist would refer you to a behavioral specialist. Who will then refer you to a psychologist. Then you would be put on a medication that would have some potential side effect that may be more harmful then your initial problem. So, I would recommend you see a Certified Hypnotherapist in your area that specializes in regression therapy. To discover what has caused you to react in this way. Then he will discuss possible choices with treatment for you. I hope that helps.
