| I have recently studied the first stage of hypnosis and while I was doing my exam I could feel the familiar pangs of pain starting in my head and face - cluster headaches on the way back for another excruciating visit. I learnt nothing in regards to self hypnosis at the course, and to be honest when my head is like this I cant remeber anything much anyway! However I did try! using a tape recording of my own 'suggesting that the subconscious listen to my every safe and sensible suggestion etc,etc,- that I did not need the pain as I am aware what the problem is and that I am correcting it. I repeatedly suggested that I did not need the pain signals any more'. Obviously I am writing this because it did not work and I usually stay in cluster headache mode for a number of weeks - can anyone give me some advise please? Please dont ask me to relax, because with this torturous pain one cannot keep still! Thanks |

Hi
A few thinks that seem to jump out at me is that you are using the word pain, in your inductions, drop that word, and use comfort, relaxed/relaxation, soften, calm, lose, and free, also thing about times then you have been in complete comfort, and use them times, in your sessions, say something as I listen to the sound of my voice, and can learn to feel then comfort from my past, and as I know what is the issue is, it’s time to be free, in all the right times and places, that allow me to heal in all and anyways that are needed to allow me to melt into comfort, freeing the tension from inside my mind and body know that I can remember to go back to them times, where I was free in the comfort of my own body.
Negation like I don’t need pain, you are telling your unconscious mind to feel pain, don’t think of a green and orange monkey, and what do you do, you think of a green and orange monkey, Negation is one of the biggest reasons is why so many people, have issues with self hypnosis and the implications, of semantic are not covered.
So maybe you can get something out of these words, that makes sense to you, and if you still can’t work things out, type out the script you are using, ever post here, or send it to me via PM, via my profile and I will make some adjustments to it, and maybe you will get more out of it.
Spend some time each day, remembering when you was well and free from anything uncomfortable, and it will start to train your mind in that direction
