I have read that the 'hypnotic state' is similar to the 'daydreaming' state, in which you are awake, but so deeply absorbed in yourself that you forget about all outside stimuli. Is hyppnosis similar to this state except for a prolonged time period? I have several daydreams at this very deep level every day. However, whenever I try to hypnotize myself, I rarely, if ever am able to reach this 'daydream' state for a prolonged period. When I hypnotize myself, should I be in this state? If I am supposed to be, should it be prolonged for the entire session until I am signaled to exit?
I would really appreciate it if you could answer these questions. I need to know if I am doing this right. It's very important to me. |

One session with an experienced hypnotherapist wil answer all your questions. You can get a variety of responses on the forum, some from experienced therapists and some from beginners. How will you know the difference? Often, what has little or no cost has little or no value.

I think it could be defined that self hypnosois, or hypnosis by a third party is deliberate, whereas daydreaming is not
