Hello Catherine,
I have never came across any scripts by Dave Elman, but I am checking some references for you at this time. Have you read Hypnotherapy by Dave Elman? I think that if you have read the book you could quite easily design your own pieces to work with as Dave was a straight forward kind of teacher.

Hi Mitch, Thank you for your reply. No, I still do not have a book by Dave Elman but I know I need to find one. The reason why I would like to find it here on the internet is that I am not born English so I need help with the correct wording. And as st's hard for me to find time to write it all I hoped to find the scripts on the internet. If you do come across sone good scripts I will be very interested to hear where I can find them. Thank you once again, Sincerely, Cathrine999

Dave Elman only wrote one book and that is simply "Hypnotherapy" copyright 1964, 1968(by Pauline Elman, his wife), 1970. he seems to use only one stript while teaching Doctors and that is eye closure. You can get this book at the National Guild of Hypnotist. I hope this helps. If any of this info is incorrect (although I think it's correct) please correct me. Also email me, since I'm to busy to visit here very often.

Check on Ebay...... I know I've seen some things listed for sale there from time to time. Do a search on "hypnosis" or "NLP". You may have to check back weekly untill some one cleans out their old office books and decides to sell them.

I can't believe someone didn't give you the exact location for the original Dave Elman script by now. Are there no professional hypnotists on this message board? It is at Omni Hypnosis web site at this url:

Dave Elman discovered a rapid approach that works very well on many people. While most hypnotists at the time were worried about eye fixation and achieving eye-closure before inducing hypnosis (sometimes taking an hour or more), Dave Elman simply asked for it. His theory was that hypnosis is a state that we’re all capable of and familiar with, so induction could be rapid-may be this will help you |

Hi all, I have one of the Westwood publishing products on Elman, I felt pretty lucky to get it. It's one thing to read a book and another to hear the man's voice at work, in a session. After listening a few times I figured out that he and Erickson had more in common than I realized.
I wrote an article about inductions (it talks about an Elman induction some) and it includes a link to a modified Elman induction. It's called The Best Hypnotic Induction and you can find it here... http://www.hypnosis101.com/best-induction.htm
Enjoy,

Gil Boyne at Westwood Publishing sells Dave Elman's Hypnotherapy which includes the few conversational scripts Dave perfected. Basically, Dave would achieve eye lock, fractionalization, hand relaxation and have a client achieve partial amnesia by losing the numbers ..... a 4 minute induction. Dave also came up with Rapid inductions ....
Better than having Dave in your living room (he's been gone a long time) ... you can get a phenomenal video from Gil Boyne, a hypnosis legend and a master of Dave Elman's technique who took Dave's techniques to the next level and combined them with Gestalt and other short term radical psychological approaches of the 60's to come up with his unique brand of hypnotherapy.
Check out Gil Boyne's website at http://www.gil-boyne.com/
And if you have a few bucks handy ... Get his instant and rapid inductions video .... it'll be worth every penny. |

The Dave Elman induction was one of the first inductions I ever learned and it's still one of the most effective. There are a lot of good resources available to learn this induction if you search the internet. One tip though while learning this induction is to not think of it as one big induction, but smaller inductions that can be broken down into steps. The Elman contains many hidden test that you will know about, but the client won't. This provides amazing feedback.
If you want to check out some other resources on Hypnosis or learn more about the Dave Elman Induction. My Hypnosis Training Blog has a few articles on it that may help.
