Hi all,
I'm new here, and was wondering if someone could possibly suggest a few good hypnosis tapes/CD's that can truly work and give great results. (I tried posting a topic similar to this on another forum, but did not receive any responses). I know hypnosis tapes/CD's/ mp3's are usually not suggested by most hypnotherapists, seeing as they may not work for every individual. However, I am currently on a very tight budget, and therefore cannot afford to see an actual hypnotherapist at this time. I am merely seeking something that can help unblock the mental barriers that often prevent me from achieving my goals/desires. Any suggestions are appreciated. |

Hi Paul Mckennas work is wonderful, you get a really good Free, induction, for you to consider, listening too, http://www.paulmckenna.com/trance/ or Paul Scheele his work is just wow, http://www.learningstrategies.com/ if your in the uk you can get Pauls Scheele's cds, from www.lifetools.com this is not hypnosis yet it works really well, eft.. www.emofree.com down load the free manual, and that will give you a really good base to start.

I never stated hypnosis tapes "often don't work". Perhaps I wasn't clear in my message: I said they are not usually recommended by most hypotherapists, because they may not work for every individual (depending on the tape/CD). In other words, a certain hypnosis tape may work great for one person, but that same tape may not work for another individual. I know hypnosis tapes/CD's can and DO WORK, but, again, there are some which are sold on the market that may not for every person. Then there are those which work and have been able to give good results to at least a reasonably large group of people. Of course, it is hard to distinguish these tapes from those that have only worked for a minor amount of people (or those that have not worked for anyone, whatsoever). Hence, why I am asking if anyone knows of any hypnosis tapes that he or she personally considers to be good, and that have given them great results. I plan on doing research on these suggested tapes, and based on the number of good feedback, among other factors, I will most likely purchase these tapes and try them out to see if they will work for me (still keeping in mind that, again, while these tapes may have worked for a certain, even large, amount of people, they may still not work for me, but that's a chance I'm willing to take). |

It seems to me that there is a common belief that all of hypnosis/hypnotherapy practice is developing a trance and listening to standardized suggestions for a broad range of problems, issues and goals.
In your original post, you acknowledged your present inability to afford personal hypnotherapy with a skilled and experienced hypnotherapist. The use of hypnotherapy techniques in personal therapy can be somewhat expensive but usually far more effective than simple programming. Your answer to Anthony is well stated; that you are aware of the numerous possibilities for success or failure in the use of commercial CDs. In short, you seem to be an informed consumer - You have analyzed your situation and made your decision. My best wishes for your successful results.
