Hello,
over a year ago, I first discovered hypnosis cds on the internet and I got a few of them. I remember listening to them first and they really got to me, as in I could feel them affect me on a deep level. My confidence was extraordinary and my life for a week, I really belived what those cds were telling me. After about a week it all went away and I went back to my old self - that is a self-doubting kinda negative person. I just cant help myself with this. I tried the cds again for a while but they never worked. Recently, I have started using them again but they still are not working at all. I think my problem is that I just don't believe what the person on the tape is telling me whereas at the beginning I did believe it....
Has anybody else had this experience? Is there anything I can do? I just want to be able to be confident like I was that first week...

The use of CD's for self improvement through suggestion
programming may have a temporary effect. For some issues (stop smoking,weight control etc.) the results amd benefits with tapes or CD's are often very good. For issues such as self confidence, the underlying causes can be very diverse. After all, confidence is simply an emotional investment in fixed beliefs about oneself and the world as we perceive it.
Some are confident that they are "born to lose" and even have the motto tattooed on their skin. Most have a removable tattoo in their mind and emotions. Permanent changes of deep-seated issues require an interaction of two persons; a skilled hypnotherapist and a client who has reached a point of readiness for change. An important
component of the process is the relationship that develops between the client and the therapist. Why should anyone accept ideas from a therapist in the same way they accepted suggestions and directions
from their parents when they were impressionable children?
The answer lies in the developed relationship and the wisdom and skill of the therapist.

P.S. Hypnosis does not "work" therefore, hypnosis cannot
"stop working". You are the one that creates the response to
programming---whether it is involuntary or intentional. |

| As you read Marks reply to you, note the Post Script, it is as important as the rest of the post. Hypnosis does not work, it is the practitioner who brings it alive, much as the artist paints the picture, it doesn't reproduce itself.... No intelliegent person would expect a $20.00 CD to change their life for ever, even though it just might happen in a few instances. You need programming by someone who knows they can achieve what you want, and YOU don't believe it so you can't.......The value of that CD to you now, is that it is proof that hypnosis does work, and can work for you. Use that knowledge and get a skilled person to do the changing. They will probe to find cause, and remove it.... |

Thanks for the replys and they are very valid.
Well, after discvering this forum, I have figured out what my problem was and why I could not go into a proper state of hypnosis. I have been doing it now again since Friday and the change is absolutely unbelieveable. Its amazing how much it can improve the quality of your life. I would be interested in hearing how other people have been affected and how its improved their quality of life and what they have achieved in their lives since they have started doing it.. |
