Please get the word out to all hypnotherapists you know who are genuinely concerned with truth in hypnosis. I firmly believe there is basically ONE organization worldwide, which has fought harder and longer to maintain truth and integrity among hypnotherapists worldwide. Of course, I'm talking about A.C.H.E. It's founder, Gil Boyne, recently sent this letter to many of you, but there are many more who haven't got the word, or the message. The letter is copied below (removed by moderator - inserted link to topic). Please support Gil Boyne and the A.C.H.E. in it's fight to keep the hypnotherapy profession honest and true. I can personally guarantee you, Hypnotherapy, as taught and practiced by Gil Boyne and A.C.H.E. hypnotherapists, may just be the last bastion on genuine healing on the planet. 9,000 hypnotists can't be wrong. Act on the suggestions in the letter, and write to the A.C.H.E. or any of its members in good standing, to support the fight for we have all worked so hard for.
Warmly, Stage Hypnotist Simone

Simone, I understand and respect your attitude, but in the same way that you feel insulted at an article you read, so I feel insulted with your statement that one group is or may be the last bastion of ethics today. I assure you it doesn't need any group, or even a collection of groups to make any of us ethical in our practises. Either we are decent human beings who give thought and concern for our clients, and those around us, or we are not, and membership in any group is incidental. I consider such people to be friends, even if I have not met them, but just as I found some statements in the other article to be true, and some very foolish, so I must admonish you also for making such sweeping statements which nobody should make without knowing every practitioner in the world, which of course nobody does. My respects to Gil, and also to you, but please, when rebutting one statement, don't make one just as outrageous (S)..... |

Thanks for your post, Anthony, but you misunderstand, and my message is anything but outrageous. I was not "insulted". Hypnosis is not a pride issue for me. I didn't mean to exclude the individuals within all other hypnosis organizations as good, ethical people. I was supporting Gil and A.C.H.E., after a series of shameful comments by someone who was actually trained in Gil's methods (and works only an hour away from Gil). I just spent four months in Santa Fe, having lunches with Gil, Training with Gil, getting the REAL scoop on hypnotherapy, before returning back to Oregon. Gil Boyne is my friend because I have the "fire in my belly" for what we're doing, and I was simply supporting his mission in the letter to the Albuquerque hypnotherapist--and his unflinching fight to maintain what he has worked so hard to build. More importantly, I was emploring other hypnotherapists to do the same, as the A.C.H.E. offers the best hypnosis training available, and if hypnotherapists are trained in the best methods, we can do the best work. Don't you want to be the best at what you do? I've spent hundreds of hours in dialogues with Gil Boyne. I know him pretty good. I know his work. Do you? Do you get the overall jist of what my letter meant or have you taken a hit to your pride? And, finally, Anthony, by your own words, do you consider me your friend? Warmly,

Yes I consider you also a friend, since you wish to be an ethical practitioner. Same applies to Gil, we don;t always agree, but that in no way should moderate our respect for each other, since disagreements are based usually on differing experiences, or different decernments of a situation. What I was commenting on was that just as all people are individual, so also are our practitioners, and if we can hold on to that respect from one group to another, we will survive and grow as we should. If we bicker about who is better, nobody gains, and respect is lost. By respecting the right of someone to disagree with us, and replying with respect to their comments, we disarm and neutralize the negatives aimed at us, and show ourselves to be reasonable thinking human beings.... |
