The HypnosisOnline.com Forum began in 1998 within the MSN Groups pages at http://groups.msn.com/HypnosisOnline.
We moved the forum in March of 2003 to its current home here at www.HypnosisOnline.com/forum
The reasons for the move were many. The most annoying one was the terrible "take over" of our free pages by MSN sponsorship advertising. In fact, if you look at the pages today (the board still exists to redirect people to our forum here) you will see that the entire opening page is nothing but ads. None of them in any way associated with Hypnosis or Hypnosis Online. Other reasons included; the lack of any real tools (search, subscription, registration, notification, etc.), the occasional (accidental?) deletion of all messages from the board and the non-responsive (non-existent) tech support assistance from MSN.
Our goal was to have a place to interact without annoying spam, flamers and off topic clutter like in the alt.hypnosis newsgroups. We feel we accomplished that goal and have the thousands of messages that were posted there, still online here at the new forum.
All the previous messages posted on the MSN groups board (except those that were lost when deleted by MSN) for the prior 5 years were moved to this forum and are labeled as posted by ForumMaster. They have the original member's name and date showing at the top of each post.
Having our forum within our own pages gives us access to the database, member's list, and allows us to backup, upgrade and control our own information. While the MSN groups were good in the beginning and helped us to build a good solid group of members they failed us in the long term.
We hope you enjoy the "ad-free" forum and we look forward to your continued participation.
