Hello, i've been very interested in hypnosis and the power of the mind for a long time, i have even succesfully hypnotized friends and assisted them with problems such as smoking, motivation and weight loss, i do this because im genuanly interested in the results, its not something i would abuse or use unethically.
Now my problem is im very keen to try hypnotism myself but cant seem to trust anyone to hypnotize me, so ive turned a lot of attention towards self-hypnosis, i just cant seem to make myself relax enough, ive tried several different ways, i think the only time im ever relaxed enough is when im reading a book or watching tv, if anyone has advice or suggestions anything would be welcome.
P.S: I know i have bad spelling, i know i have bad grammer, i know i have trust issues including myself, and i know im not a practising hypnotherapist, i do not need to be reminded of any of these issues, i am simply seeking advice. |

Hello,
If you do a search on "Self Hypnosis" in this forum's search function I think you will find quite a few places where this is being discussed.
You may want to try creating an audio recording for your sessions. In this way, you can just relax and listen to the recording instead of trying to do all the concentration on the work load part of getting yourself under.
I give a suggestion during sessions that allows clients to go into self hypnosis on their own by putting their thumb and middle finger together (yoga like) and counting backward from three to one. Then they go to the "exact same restful place" without all the induction - where they can give themselves helpful suggestions on their own. This is a good technique and you should be able to put that into your audio recording for your own programming.
By the way, you have bad spelling, bad grammar, trust issues and you are not a... (couldn't stop myself from saying it).

There were so many topics on Self Hypnosis that we decided to create a separate board within the forum just for it.
All posts on Self Hypnosis have now been moved into one.
