(8) An individual who teaches Lamaze prenatal and delivery relaxation techniques to pregnant women.
(9) A law enforcement officer who:
(A) is trained in hypnotism; and
(B) Uses hypnosis only for law enforcement purposes.
you are violating state statute by advertising as a hypnotist. It is a class B misdemeanor to use the word hypnosis hypnotist or hypno if your are not certified. non-accredited

I am 100% in favor of Certification of all Hypnotherapy professionals; However, it seems a shame that we must have the power of the state involved. To have people arrested for practicing hypnosis seems to smack a quasi religious zeal which is suspect in itself. What about the idea of encouraging these "Outlaws" to get registered and or the training they need to be competent.

The individuals in question are the bait and switch Group hypnotists. They come into the state claiming to stop smoking and weight loss guarantees in one session. They use the science of hypnosis to lure the people then spend 2 hours trying to sell them tapes, manuals, and herbs. They are the equivalent to the ''old side show snake oil salesmen''
When IT doesn't work for the participants the habit they have is reinforced an they ,in their mind say, '' well tried hypnosis and it didn't work''

All of the problems in our society and culture can be resolved easily and quickly. This is by estabishing a power base control as to who should, or have rights. How, by having all states, better yet a Federal law, that no one can have free will, choice or the ability to think without being controlled and told how to function. The special interest groups have nothing to do with what is right or good, it is all about power and control. We could set a good example by digging up the remains of Dave Elmans, Phinaes Parkhurst Quimby, just to mention two, and place them in a glass incased jail cell for public display to show all, that no one escapes money interest groups.
And of course, it would be expedient to destroy all good works done by the LAY HYPNOTIST, reprint their works giving credit to only the Special (Money) interest groups. YES, rewritting history is an excellent tool. Jesus healed the sick, how dare he do this. He who did not have a college degree or complete a certification course, and belong to medical organization. Boy they sure taught him..... nailed him to a cross.
I always believed civil courts in your country had been established to address disputes between individuals. Maybe we could just abolish civil courts, yea, theres a good solution. BIG BROTHER must have control. If for one minute you don't believe that Indiana does not have a goal to obtain even more control, then get the tape called "History and Evolution of SB 74 from the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, Glendale, CA 818-242-1159. This is a tape of their meeting when they instituted Indiana's law. What they did was just a beginning. Their creation did not have any grandfather clause to consider, even on a case by case basis, anyone. Their law is, give us your money, (to only one specific group) do our course and slave labor internship. Slavery of thought is an excellent way to control money and power. Also, I noticed no mention was made of the seperation of church and state in the posting of the Indiana law.

Should you not appreciate my satire... well, OK. If you desire to take away the rights for people to think for themselves you will have a fight on your hands. Summation: To many laws are a turf war of control and money. The elite shall inherit the earth..... (elite is defined at the ones who buy the votes, give kickbacks and receive self serving control of the stupid majority)
God loves you, do give back what you recieve.
Are you on a path of God Consciousness or the path of control and the need to be superior. You still do have a choice.

You forgot to add "Kill all stage hypnotists" I am sure this was only an oversite. How dare they make people cluck like chickens, they aren't even members of the poultry association. I'm sure Frank Perdue (the chicken magnet of arkansas) would kick in a few bucks to any politition who would amend the law to specify this group

OBVIOUSLY you feel that such "seminars" (one or two hours) don't work but the numbers speak for themselves. I know each one stands on it's own merits but I personally have no less than 6 friends who have quit smoking - totally - after such a session. "Quick fix"? Maybe but it works for hundreds and hundreds. Equating such with "snake oil" salesmen is just an unfair judgement. As to "herbs", I again do not know what they feature but certain vitamin and mineral supplements DO help with the cravings and feelings people go through when quitting smoking.
Are such feelings based in fear for the safety of the general public or fear that they might actually work and hurt the on-going sessions of the local therapist?
Violation of law is different but to shun such meetings is to tell the many who have been successful with such that ..."it's all in their head". WAIT! IT IS!

| Alright guys, instead of battling from extreme viewpoints, accept that any extreme is bad. Total freedom is bad because it allows con artists to batten on the gullible or ignorant. Total control is obviously bad, since it was the lay practitioner who taught doctors, dentists etc how to use hypnosis, so obviously there are some of us who know more than they do about the subject. In Alberta we have the ability to practise hypnosis regardless of other skills such as medicine, dentistry etc, but the sensible lay person seeking help can contact HSA and be directed to a skilled and ethical practitioner who has committed to practising according to guidelines laid down by the Society, who meet monthly to practise, and improve the skills of all members.... |
