| I just want to know if hypnotherapy will work in my situation. i forget my past....everything from age 12 and younger, is completely and totally gone from my mind. i have been TOLD about things that have happened in my past, but i have no idea if they actually happened or if i was just told that they happened, becuase i cant remember. do you think that hypno therapy will actually help me to get these memories back? |

hello i kinda have the same thing, yet i forget my past on purpose, long story.. yet i have been able to get along just fine with out having to think about that time as it's over. yes hypnosis can help with memory, yet as you can't remember if something is a real memory from your past then does it really mater? now something that you might consider looking into, and you can do it with out the aid of hypnosis is take a look at http://www.winwenger.com/index.htm as you will find some really cool ways for being able to find and create better memories.. real or otherwise. if you still what to use hypnosis you might what to also look at www.nlpweekly.com as they have some intresting thing's to look at.

| Matrixman is right, so be careful what you ask for, you might get it. Very often, lack of memory means that memories would be painful so we erase them. They are not gone, just recessed to the back of our mind were they are difficult to discover. Yes hypnosis can bring those memories to light, but once done it can't be undone. Now unless it is of great importance, I suggest you forget it since cost would also be a factor, and you can't do it yourself without learning self hypnosis, not an easy or fast thing to do. I know of several cases were this was done, and later regretted. One client recalled that his father was an alcoholic who beat him constantly, and since his father was now dead, he had no fond memories to live with, memories of his father on rare occassions teaching him to play hockey etc which he had retained, because these were now suddenly overshadowed by the other memories so long supressed..... |
