(is this thread still active -- 2 months later?)
I just saw Marshall -- as the invitee of 2 of his "masters" graduates.
Only because I've done some previous "transformational" training -- am I able to "get" the value of this training. It's definitely not for those who still think they can reach *all* their dreams by climbing the 'ol ladder of success (education, salary).
Only if you already know that "reality" is in fact an elaborate illusion -- will you appreciate the knowledge of how to control the illusion -- for the higher good of all. If you aren't ready for that knowledge -- then it's best that you wallow in your own illusion until your ready.
Marshall is "over the top" in his "DJ" like demeanor, you've seen that demeanor work for stand-up comics -- and it apparently works great for any stage-act. Humans want to be told what to beleive -- but certain authority-buttons must be pushed first. That is Marshall's #1 lesson -- and that's done by unstated example. I was ashamed to use that knowledge -- I'm not anymore -- not if I truly beleive that what I have to offer is "good" (got that from Marshall).
Is Marshall actually some kinda "saint" -- not likely -- don't care. His training is perfect for older adults who've made "all the mistakes" -- and are ready to admit what they've learned the hard-way "Life doesn't work -- until you work-life" (my-take). Even if you can't grasp the grand illusion of Life -- you will do much better learning to work your own personal illusion. Marshall can help you there -- as only a master showman-shaman can.
EDIT: I should be clear -- I LIKE this guy! Never mind the razzel-dazzel and the [likely] ego -- Marshall "goes-deep" when needed. He shifts into a mouthpiece of Truth when called upon by inquiring minds. He may or may not be real "all the time" but I've seen him deliver some shattering truths in response to impromptu questions.
Ignore the glitter (or enjoy it!) Marshall has the spark of Life in him. Thankfully and unlike "evangelicals" he needs no claim of sainthood to accomplish positive change for others. Hang in there Marshall ;) |

The beauty of a forum - everything stays active forever. We only really archive time sensitive threads (events, meetings, etc.) and even then will sometimes allow them to stay viewable, just so people who attended can comment after the fact. |

I have heard only negative things about Marshall Sylver. He had been sued by paticipants of his MMP because he didn't live up to his promises. Also he has been arrested for counterfeiting and has various lawsuits against him.
That said, reactions on some of his programs have been very negative as far as I have seen them. There are only a few people who really like him, and they seem to really like him. The rest of the world calls him a phony.
I don't know the man so I can't say, but it seems a bit weird for me that if someone is so genuine, a lot of people think he's fake and dislike him. |

I am well acquainted with Marshall Sylver and I call him friend".
I trained him when he was broke and searching for for a career.
I cannot commemt, pro or con, about his seminars since I have never participated in one. I have met and am friends with many who have taken his course and they all have the greatest respect for him.
As to 'FALSE HOPE",there is no such thing! There is "Hope Realized"
and "hope unrealized" (disappointment). A recent phenomenon was a book and DVD called "The Secret" which promised everything if you learned to visualise your desires. I view it as a reworking of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, "Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace Wattles and "The Strangest Secret"by Earl Nightingale.
I am also a friend of one of the principals in the DVD "The Secret"
and he has worked diligently for a lifetime to reach his goals.
In short, I believe the "Secret" promises far more than it can deliver. The operative philosophy" for using time and money has always been, "Let the buyer beware". As to Marshall's "mistakes"
is there anyone reading this who has not made at least one major mistake?
I have been training large numbers of people to become hypnotherapists for more than thirty-five years. I have seen a relatively small percentage of the total number become highly successful and wealthy. The rest used (or failed to use) what they learned in ways that they chose and that suited them.
It is easy to make judgements and cast stones but I suspect that envy is a part of some of the vituperative posts here.

| I had the opportunity years ago to work for Marshall. I was that young protoge mentioned in one of the reply's. I haven't spoken with Sylver since that time back in 1987, but it was a great learning experience. Sylver does have a great presence on stage and I learned those fundamentals that I apply for my own show. I just can't believe its been so long, since it only seems like yesterday. This is do to enjoying life and doing what you love to do. Maybe one day our paths will again cross, until then I wish Sylver much success. |

| I had time to read through many of the postings. I was sure suprised by everything regarding Marshall Sylver; Especially the seminars and pricing, and the attourney general prosecution. I can remember helping out at one of the very first seminars held down near Mission Beach, Ca...and it sounds like things have really changed in that venue. In one way, I am glad I moved on without any more ties to Sylver, especially everything I read and searched on the internet. If anyone does come into contact with Marshall, ask him if he remembers a young guy working for him by the name of Brian Hook. It would have been while he was performing at LaughStop in Newport Beach,CA and Jack Wade's Bandstand 2 blocks from Disneyland. |

look how many posts the people whov commented, like'djsting' have done, all of them on the one forum. (though they might change it after theyv seen this, it was 12 at the time.)Iv only done one post, but its to warn you my friend. They understand the power of the internet and google and are using it against u. Notice how theyr saying that they know him personally, and hes a good guy, and howif u invest, itll change your life, absolute claptrap! Examine the statistics of whos became millionaires, and you will see the proof. Its obvious some of his cronies have posted these on to convince you, ut theyr a bit thick, because every1 knows you believe some1 who takes everything into account, and is not so gushing. I searched to see if hed gotten sued after watching louis theroux, which im sure quite a few ppl who searched through google are doing the same. Marshall Sylver is a self-admitted expert in manipulation, and is not afraid to influence ppl around him and also thru the media, to reach his ends. dont belive the posters, theyr showering you with lies!!!! dont even take my word for granted, before you consider going to a seminar of his, (if theyr still on) do some proper research!!!! I have no problem with Marshall Sylver personally i dont know the guy or have been to his seminar, but i dont want some bot to hijack a forum and gush abot how good he is with no objectionality!

Marshall Sylver a great sales man and is decent as a hypnotist. The reason he has had so may legal problems in the past is because at his core he has a cheater mentality. He does not walk his talk in this way. From my personal experience with him as example he screwed all of the people who stayed with GRR durning the "1 month hiatus" .
Overall, Marshall is someone you can learn from BUT be prepared to move on to more ethical people.
