I was thinking about trying self-hypnosis, but I'm not quite sure where to start. I had a book in mind but was hoping I might be able to get someone's thoughts on it.
"Effective Self Hypnosis"
It seems to have some good reviews, but has anyone read it? Any good? Better book?
In general I guess I'm wondering does self-hypnosis really help to stop bad habits and things? Namely procrastination.
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks. |

Hello, Yes, self-hypnosis does work but you must have the motivation to change. I have not read this book so I cannot give you my opinion. Another source for books (esp. since you are new to the subject) are used book stores. I have found some wonderful books. You can pick up several books by different authors, on different hypnosis subjects for the price of one new book (and I have found new books with the price tags still on them). In regard to your procrastination, I would suggest that you consult with a hypnotherapist in your area. You may get better results working with a professional rather than trying to do it yourself. Don't put it off! Gook luck. |

Take Tammeys advice. Proctastination is the one thing I would never advise anyone to attempt to change via self hypnosis, you would never stick it out long enough to get results anyway.... Books are fine to give you an idea of how hypnosis might be used to get you the results you might want, but it is not good without training, and by that I mean hands on training by a skilled practitioner... |
