could someone please tell me if The National Board of
Professional and Ethical Standards is a leagal and accredited hypnotherapy school?

This sounds like a guild or association and not a training facility. See our lists of training schools and associations on our main page. You should go to their web site and look over their posted information. Also do a search in your favorite search engine for the name and see what other people have said about them.

Whether it's a guild, association, or an actual school of instruction of some type, the use of the "accredited" must be applied to hypnosis, hypnotherapy and/or NLP programs very, very carefully... if at all. I've noted people throwing the "accreditation" or "accredited" word around alot in these forums, and it concerns me. I fear the reader will be misled by injudicious use of those terms here.
