Hi! I am happy to be a new member of this forum.
I need help regarding sleep. my problem is somewhat different from what the title indicates. I have no problem falling asleep, however I don't want to sleep even when I am sleepy, but I go to sleep only when I feel really exhausted. I was asking myself, "you are tired why don't you want to sleep" and I get the answer similar to "something is missing" or sometimes like "I still did not do what I had to do during the day and again sleep".
Please help me if you have experience, by telling me what I am doing that is resulting in this. or tell me how can I find out.

Part of your mind thinks it has unfinished business... Could also be seen as stress - your mind is still motivated to be active when it should not be. That is your "target behavior".

If you are looking for suggestions about what you could do to help yourself here are a few (bearing in mind it would always be best to consult with a hypnotherapist who would be prepared to look at changing your thought patterns or beliefs rather than just treating the sleep - or lack of):
If you can gather your thoughts together and write down the things you think you have not done, getting them on paper gets them out of your head, as long as you deal with them the next day.
Taking a further step and away from bed time, ask yourself why it is important that you do task (a) for instance. Ask how not doing task (a) would influence the long term, say in 10 years time.
Notice how there are some things we really do need to do and some we only think we need to do. This could be down to some long established thought pattern that has never been questioned so just asking why can sometimes change the need to do it.

I will do what you suggested (but not to the letter)
you mentioned about therapist. usually I avoid this. because they usually help you but on several visits and I can afford only for one visit :-)
