Hey all , first post here ! To put a long story short I have been working with hypnosis / self hypnosis for quite some time .....finally getting my diploma in clinical hypnotherapy this year . I was lucky enough to be accepted to the pacific institute of advanced hypnotherapy who is headed and instructed by the 2011 IMDHA educator of the year , I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can .
Now here's my question , I have always had an issue with sleep especially getting to a sleep state , not so much stayin asleep. I developed my own regimen of self hypnosis techniques and was able to , if anything , relax enough to enter a good sleep .
As most of us are curious people ;) further down the road I have become much more interested in dream state - more over , lucid dreams and solfeggio frequencies .
I did stumble across a very very interesting app called dream inducer , essentially a frequency generator for different states. I must say it provides very interesting results.
Now here lies the problem , I'm very used to practicing quite a deep trance before sleep , essentially moving from trance directly into sleep. Most nights I use the frequency generator because I actually enjoy the ambient soundscapes it provides as well as its great ability to induce a trance .
I am wondering , is (or will) this habit come to my detriment when I practice my self hypnosis during the day ? As of yet I have not accidentally fallen into deep sleep during a day time trance but really I am wondering will I set myself on that path with continues practice of trance states before sleep?
Generally I give myself the condition I will go into trance to fall asleep but give myself the opposite during the day , not sure if that is enough !

Hello Neil,
Sounds like you've put a lot of thought into this and are concerned.
Also sounds like you've established different routines around your different hypno time periods and taken a practical step with the suggestion of your intention.
Of course you can fall asleep during the daytime practice especially if you are tired. But, from what you describe, I do not think it should be something to worry too much about. If it becomes a problem THEN work to figure it out. :) |

Thanks for the info ! I definitely am trying to practice many different approaches and techniques which would assist me in addressing clients different needs or abilities.i really enjoy the use of solfeggio frequencies and plan to develop some of my scripts in conjunction with the numerous frequencies out there. As I am also a recording studio owner I am lucky enough to have the resources to accomplish it .
Perhaps I will start another thread to share these thoughts , it seems (at least to me) like a very interesting idea but I have tonnes more research to do before then .for example If I do a script to 417 Hz - Undoing Situations and Facilitating Change I have to be very careful to anchor the client to the script and not the sound hahahaha because there are many things out there that create a 417 Hz frequency !! Don't want to be sending someone into A trance state everytime they hear a trombone !!

Trance before sleep is a natural occurrence as we pass from beta to alpha brain waves - it is never detrimental and if consciously exploited it can be of immense benefit.
