I was wondering if this is possible....
To be read a paragraph from a book while under hypnosis and have the hypnotist implant a trigger word that, when heard while out of hypnosis, recall the paragraph word for word (or close to it?)
If yes, could a visual trigger be used as well (whenever you see a _____, you will recall this information)?
Thank you for your time,

That is the basis when working with someone for study skills. Anchor a trigger to assist in recall. Trigger can be a word, sound, color, whatever.
Results will vary depending on the individual. |

Thank you for your response. I figured I can use this to help remember some of the knowledge i need for my work & your answer is reassuring.
Can anyone else comment on this? Has anyone done this and if so what was it like for them? |

Since there have not been other posts I thought I'd add more info.
For most study skill people - intentional recall I teach them an instant induction anchor to hypnotized themselves when working on memorizing. Then use the same anchor to recall. Can use a finger tap, word, etc for the anchor. |

There is also another way you could achieve this Ars Memorativa / The art of memory. The art of memory was a mnemotechnique system that would help scholars learn phenomenal quantities of information. Many mentalists use these techniques in their performances to impress the audience. Do a search on Ars Memorativa and you will find interesting stuff |

I know for myself, I am an extremely visual learner when it comes to reading.
So part of what you will want to do is to intake your hypnosis clients' key learning modality for taking in information.
If they are, let's say, a TASTE person, the scenario you are requesting is a bit more challenging, b/c the learning modality where the took in the information ran counter to their nature.
However, if they are Kino or Visual, then it is closer to where you could...
Cool question!
To your success!

I have a similar question, relating to sports though. Meshnut mentioned a trigger point for studying; I'd like to know if it is possible to use such technique to implement a certain routine during a game of table tennis. I have a general tendency to rush which lead me to wrong positioning and therefore the execution of the shots is either inefficient or completely wrong. When I mentally tell myself to slow down, it only works for the first 1 or 2 shots then again I go back to my old habit, so I'm wondering if hypnosis might help me? Can it be achieved via self-hypnosis? Cheers Jon |

It may be possible with self-hypno. But, in my mind it would be much more reliable to work on with a good hypnotist.
It sounds like you're working "against" some behavior that is driving/motivating you to "rush". The short-term results you experience with intentionally working against it shows that this behavior is relatively persistent/strong. How "strong" is that behavior? What is driving it? What can be done to reduce this drive/strength/persistence?
Impatience? A desire to win? Fear of losing? Simply muscle memory? |

It's fascinating to realise how few questions trigger an avalanche of possibilities. I will have to reflect on these and probably best to open a new thread so not to hijack meshnut original topic. Thanks |
