Hi.
I am in therapy and was discussing with my counselor the benifets of hynosis. Neither one of us know much about it. I really need to go further into my emotions and would like it to be easier to get in touch with this 'inner child'. Although I feel it is there, the biggest part of my emotions think that being in touch with your inner child is 'hoaky'. I need to be less inhibited. I was wondering if hynosis would help. But....would I remember everything? If not, then I don't think it would be helpful. Does anyone have any comments or knowledge to share? I really appreciate it. |

Hello,
Yes, hypnosis is perfect for that. The clients I get that have been through good counseling have a great idea of where the problems are. Makes it easier to target and address the problems with hypnosis.
Hypnosis does not make a person remember 'everything', though people do tend to remember more. And, even if the memory is not detailed, as long as the context and content of the memory are clear enough, it can be dealt with. After all, it is not the memory(s) that is the problem, it is the subjective perspective of the memory. Right? :)
All hypnosis is not the same. Lots of different techniques being used. To find a hypnotist, I'd recommend getting consultations until you find one you feel is qualified and 'fits' your needs.
