Hi
Hypnosis will not grow your muscle in and of it's self- you will have to lift weights to do that-
Yet what Hypnosis is fantastic at doing is speeding up the recovery rate that your muscle needs- which means- the protein synthesis that occurs- after a workout using heavy weights, is speeded up- yet you have to still do the work- faster rates of recovery- means you can train harder.

Hello again
Rates of recovery are very different- for each person- as each person has his or her own level of fitness- yet from my own experience- with sport hypnosis- a minimum of 15% increase in recovery time is not uncommon- with a 60 plus% increase in athletes, who are at the very highest of fitness levels ..

There is a recent university study that used hypnosis to "increase" strength. Three groups - hypnosis/mental workout, physical workout, and no workout. To quantify increase, they used a leg press machine... if I remember right. The hypnosis and physical workout groups had similar increases in strength.
It is possible the hypnosis group increased because they believed they could - therefore, pushed themselves harder. (that's my opinion) Which is still a good thing when body building. You may know people that get a "mental block" about increasing weight - just believe they can't?
I will post reference info for the study abstract later today.

Here you go -
Sheckell, E.
This study tested whether mental training alone can produce a gain in muscular strength. Thirty male university athletes, including football, basketball and rugby players, were randomly assigned to perform mental training of their hip flexor muscles, to use weight machines to physically exercise their hip flexors, or to form a control group, which received neither mental nor physical training. The hip strength of each group was measured before and after training. Physical strength was increased by 24% through mental practice (p= .008). Strength was increased with physical training by 28%, but did not change significantly in the control group. The strength gain was greatest among football players given mental training. Mental and physical training produced similar decreases in heart rate, and both yielded a marginal reduction in systolic blood pressure. The results support the related findings of Ranganathan, Siemionow, Liu, Sahgal, and Yue (2004).

It really depends what you want to do. Do you want to lose fat and grow muscle. Or you want to just grow muscle because you're skiny.
I think you should get some ideas and plans from fitness instructors. Paying for it might not be a bad thing. You get quality advice. Of course if you are serious.
Hypnosis can help you fasten the process of gaining muscle. It fastens the whole process. |
