Are you really looking for a training course? - It is possible to read from a book and induce trance in someone else and learn the lot in an hour - what to do with the trance and learning how you acheived it can take you a lifetime of learning and experience ( a path upon which I am currently travelling and learning every day )
If you can find a hypnotist who will help you learn and practice it makes the whole thing much more interesting and safe. Post details of what you seek and I am sure that the answers will come.

Welcome I agree with Tony. If you can get instruction and guidance the whole process is made easer and safer. Often when you use hypnosis on another person you can be opening a can of worms.Their behaviour can be very unpredictable and to the novice prety scarey.
The best way to view hypnosis, is that it is a tool used by the therapist along with psychological training or knowledge to assist another. Often during training, the therapist goes through a course of therapy and I can asure you that that "chair" can be very uncomfortable indeed. A good begining would be to pick up a book from the library and keep posting messages/ questions on this board also on the list to the left of the board you will see a category of Scripts click on it and see if there is anything there to help.
Read through them. See what the script is attempting to do.
Hypnosis alone will achieve little. It's the therapy ( suggestion/ analysis) that brings about change.

I agree with Terry. For example let's say one is shy and wishes to become more confident. You can probably learn to have someone relax and go into a "trance" and make the authoritarian type suggestion that the one will be more confident. That person may even experience a new feeling of confidence afterward. That feeling will be short lived.
You see the shyness was probably learned subconsciously as a defense mechanism against pain caused by fear of rejection. It is well set into place. The new information of being confident conflicts with this long set program and will quickly dissipate and be gone.
If, however, the old program was explored and successfully released and then replaced by new programming of being "confident" it would more likely be permanent. This is a gross oversimplification but it illustrates my point. I would start out reading Leslie Lecron books and focus on his information on ideomotor response and work with what is called a "Chevreul Pendulum". From there you can explore the wonderful world of Erickson, Cheek, and the current great writings of Ernest Rossi. If so, you will be light-years ahead of many in the field who actually do this for a living!

Background reading will certainly get you started. Next step is to get a keen subject willing to allow you to practise induction & 'wake up'techniques. Attending a course run by an experienced hypnotist will speed up progress. It's about 'getting the knack.'. Some people are able to catch the first ball thrown @ them & never drop a catch. Others learn quickly enough. Some fumble forever. It's like a lot of stuff, you can only hope for a good result.

Hi everybody. just registered, and excited to to do so. I am in Dallas/Ft.Worth area, and wondering if any of you can recommend a hypno-therapy school in my area. I desire formal education in NLP and Ericsonian hypnosis techniques. I have a basic working knowledge of NLP, but desire certification. I have a great desire to help others as myself. Any replies are greatly appreciated. thank you.
