Find a hypnotherapist , have a session - easy?. If only. Recently I saw a well reknown and carefully researched sydney hypnotherapist. At the time I visited her rooms, a few little things caught my eye- her work space seemed a little disorganised, nothing i could put my finger on, but i noted it all the same. But hell she was the expert what did i have to fear?. Two months on I am a complete wreck , not because of any deep dark issues that were unearthed, but because of the energetic link that this person made with my aura and then used to off load a whole lot of her own energetic garbage( very dark and distorted stuff). Now this might seem like the realm of fantasy, and god knows i wish that it was , but this womans involvement in my energetic field has left me with a depleted and severely battered energy field. Im still having intensive energy work to try and restore the balance . TO all you folks out there please please be very careful, who you let into yourself. I wouldnt wish this experience on my worst enemy . Make sure that the person you are seeing is of a sufficiently high enough consciousness to be able to manage and contain their own stuff, and more importantly what type of intentions they are ultimately working with . When you are under you are completely vulnerable and open do you really want that person intimately linked with your inner most processes. This woman has abused my boundaries and violated my trust and was not serving the highest intentions of healing within the context of the client/ practioner dynamic. If i could go back, i would have turned on my heels and walked away as soon as id laid eyes upon her. It is ridiculous to allow yourself to be so wide open with someone that you are meeting for the first time. I can only describe what i have been through as spiritual rape and psychic violation, and pray that it never happens to anybody else. My advice exercise the same due dilligence with healers/ therapists as you would in all other aspects of your life because you never know who is out there. Check the person out , ideally meet with them first in a non session context, and then go away and think about whether you want to be completely open to that persons best or worst intentions.

Whoa - I really hope you get allright! Can you tell what specifically she did that was wrong - did she give you some negative input/negative suggestions etc.?

I wholeheartedly agree.
There is a hypnotist in my area that I hear complaints about constantly. Hypnosis, like every profession, has people in it that should not be.

This is so important. Unfortunately there are not so few so called hypnotists that go against the rules.
Always check two times who you are dealing with. Those things are powerful and many people don't know it.

More than a few Therapists, Hypnotists offer free consultation maybe you might feel it wise to see the Therapist first, hear what they have to offer and biuld some kind of judgement/rapport at no expence other than your time.
Its a great posting and demonstrates the importance of Ethics.
