| My first hypnosis resource (aside from academic articles and web materials) was Igor Ledochowski's "Deep Trance Training Manual." I found it interesting and it had a good list of induction and deepening techniques, but wasn't exactly what I, personally was looking for (I am a graduate student of clinical psychology and was interested in more therapeutic and research driven information). Does anybody else have an opinion on Ledochowski's work? It is hard to find an unfavorable review on the internet for his work in general, which I find a little bit suspicious. |

I think Igor's work is in conversational hypnosis as I have seen his name everywhere when looking up "black ops hypnosis." The idea behind his work is that you can use ericksonian hypnosis (indirect hypnosis) to help get people to do what you want them to do.
As I understand it, people only have control in hypnosis when they know they're going into hypnosis (say in a clinical or therapeutic setting). However, if you use conversational hypnosis on an unsuspecting person, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that you can get them to do just about anything. |

You are wrong.
We get a lot of people coming into the forum trying to post articles claiming things that are not fact. Most often this is done to try to start a conversation (which in most cases has already been discussed at length) that will help them promote some bogus product they are selling online. They do this to try to post keywords such as "black ops" and "conversational" in attempts to somehow legitimize it.
Many times these people register with multiple usernames in order to have conversations (with themselves) to again, try to legitimize some unproven notion or process.
I don't know if you are one of those people or not but if you continue to post such outrageous statements, I think you may find your self no longer welcome and some moderator may ban you from the group. If you are not one of those people and you are truly attempting to learn hypnosis (as you say in your signature) I respectfully suggest you do more reading and less offering of advice until such time as you have a more substantial foundation from which to speak.

| I've met several students of Ledochowski, and my main criticism is that they often credit him for inventing techniques that were actually invented by earlier hypnotherapists. It's consistent enough that I blame the teacher, not the student. |
