| So how is it that the majority of hypnotherapy schools I see only offer courses that are at most, 6 days long? How exactly is one to learn an entire science of the mind in less than a week? I'm looking to become a Hypnotherapist/NLP specialist but my heads spinning trying to find a decent school. Could anybody point me in the direction of a good hypnotherapy/NPL school which offers at least a couple of months worth of training, and doesn't reek of scam? I live in the New York/New Jersey area and help is greatly appreciated! |

| Most all training courses offer a Basic beginner's course for the first part of training - Basic Hypnosis. After that, you can advance to clinical or more advanced training. No one class is set up to train people from A to Z. Just like in any other form of training - you don't train to be anything really by signing up for one class. That said, most all the people I know who have attained any level of recognition in this field have been self taught. Then they progressed to training others. In the end - your best bet is to read a lot of books and take a lot of classes with a lot of different people and over the years you will acquire knowledge - don't look to get it in a one stop place. Even people who are highly trained continue to learn and grow - the training never really stops. |

| Hi, I am new to participating in an online forum, I too have been searching for a 'reputable' training provider in hypnosis, preferably in my home city of Melbourne, Victoria, Aust. I think, from my research that essentially, the courses on offer are initially of an "introductory" nature and it is only the Cert 1V's, diplomas and above that are accredited by an RTO? I have been working in human services industry for many years and I feel I would like to take peoples belief in their own ability one step further and I believe this could be achieved thru appropriate use of Hypnotherapy. I would like to gain enough of a qual to ethically practice hypnosis with the option of further qualifications later on. I dont mind that it is a basic course as I feel I have a natural aptitude in this area, however, I would like it to be a recognised course so I can use it to practice.. |

Doesn't seem like anyone wants to answer you - so I'm coming to the rescue. I am from Qld - originally NSW, and know of at least one reputable school in Vic.
