Hey there,
For a long time now I've been a street magician, and now, I'm also practicing hypnosis, I've managed to recreate alot of famous effects, paralysed, deaf, numb, hands stuck, heavy / light arm, missing numbers out when counting, turning belt into a snake, causing person to believe he was a bird and by leaning back and falling to the ground during being asleep (i caught him) he would fly, etc.
But what I would like is to blend my street magic (usually involving playing cards) with covert hypnotism.
So, for example, obvious ideas would be, playing cards becoming extremly heavy, or light (their hand has to move up to keep it in their hand).
I have the Elliusionist Arcane Deck, which has a very scary demon joker on it, which I'm sure I could bring to life, I already use the card in a trick to change the writing on it to their card.
I do a trick where the name of their card appears on a person's arm without me touching them.. would it be possible to hypnotise some sort of immagury burning sensation or any sort of unnerving tingling, etc?
One trick I practiced today was a trick I do quite often, but I tied it into a street hypnotism session, and had my best reaction yet.. which was, I switched from giving people commands, to giving objects commands, two people were currently holding 2 different cards, I snapped my fingers, said "Switch!" and they look at the cards and see they have infact switched.
Any ideas / comments / suggestions would be much appreachiated, thanks :)

Just to add to some ideas you might all have: I have two trick decks, one causes any card, at any time to turn upside down, with liturally less than a snap of the fingers, the other, causes a card to rise out of a card deck at my will, with no strings or any finger movement / pushing it up etc. - thought that might be useful to know :)

How strange. I'm a performer too, and I literally just posted an answer to a question about inductions with the same reply. You need 'Mischief' by Harling & Nyrup, their stuff is exactly what you're looking for, as they show you how to blend hypnotic routines with mentalism. What made me reply is the fact that the book contains exactly the two routines you're talking about, having a playing card grow heavy or light in a persons hand, complete with some really good scripting in their book "Mischief"!:) I've done it myself maybe a dozen times now, it gets a good reaction --- but more astonishment when it grows lighter for some reason, Ihave no idea why.
Buy them and Ormond McGill's "Stage Hypnosis" and you'll have enough material to keep you going for years.
