Hey there :)
After already being a close-up street magician I have finally ventured into the mysterious and mystical world of hypnotising my neighbours.
I am not a expert, and so I would like some tips, I'm currently practicing instant inductions such as the vacuum finger, butterfly fingers, handshake interuption, and not sure of the name but you'll find it by typing in `hypnotise someone in 6 seconds).
Usually, I will not put people to sleep when hypnotising, I don't need to, I ask them to put their hand out infront of them, spread their fingers, and then imagine a rubberband pulling their fingers together, of course they do come together, and once this has happend they seem to go into a state of belieth, they believe they are hynotised, and so are.
So, once their in that state I can simply say to them somthing like:
(holding their hand down on table) "I want you to feel your hand is getting heavier, and heavier and heavier. It's becoming harder and harder and harder for you to move it, even your fingers. The weight is just draining away all of your strength. Now, when I tell you to, you are going to realize that the weight from your hand has caused it to become completely stuck to the table and you are not able to lift it off.. which you can't, can you.?"
I can paralyse them completely, take away their ability to talk, hear or feel.
The advice I'm after is:
A) Genural tips to help.
B) Fun ideas for hypnotising, and how to carry them out
C) Speeding up
D) Making it more intresting for others to watch
and E) just anything else you think might be applicable.

Hi Danny
Watch as many real live hypnosis shows you can, as this way you be exposed to how it's done in the real world, youtube as a huge amount of hypnosis related stuff, watch as much as you can as this will show you lots of approaches.
As for speeding up that is down to practice and experience the more hypnosis you practice the more refinements you will be able to make.
Check out a fella called James Tripp "HWT" James as a really cool model for hypnosis he calls Hypnosis without trance- (doing a google search will find him)
You might consider finding either an Improve drama class or doing a stand up comedy workshop, or going to a place like "toast masters" to get some practice at public speaking.
If your in the UK in and around London/ West Essex check out a friend of mine Al Whitton http://westessexhypnotherapy.co.uk/ via facebook as he runs an experimental hypnosis group once a month or so and that will give you a safe place to learn and make some friends etc. |
If it has consciousness it's already in a trance. |
