Great forum,
Does anyone work to a set formula for their hypno sessions?
For example, 20 min interview , 25 min trance ???????
Am just curious in how everyone else runs their sessions.
Any ideas appreciated

Andy, I don't have a set formula.. Just a flexible one, like a check-list. Some people need a longer pre-talk, some a shorter. Some people only need 5 minutes of induction and deepening, etc.. Flexibility in the sessions seems to allow it to fit clients better. And, it keeps me from getting bored.

good advise,
What would be on your check list?
Am keen to see how others structure their sessions.

Andy,
Here's a basic outline for a first session. List would be a bit different depending on the specific presented issue(s).
Pretalk describe my approach to hypnosis rapport building
Pre-hypnosis interview discuss their goals and decide how best to approach them. prioritize goals discuss realistic expectations regarding goals
Induction instant, rapid or longer rapid depending on person Deepening visual or not depending on person if visual, select one that is appropriate for the person
Convincer
Address behaviors directly age regression, parts, gestalt, forgiveness, passive or active. Reframe.
Visualization test the addressed behaviors if pass, move forward. if fail, go back
Clean-up and reinforce future pacing, suggestions
Re-establish depth and create post-hypnotic
2nd convincer
Emerge
Post-hypnosis interview

Great insight.
What convincer would you use?
Many thanks

I have been using an eye lock and then Don Mottin's "color red" for post-hypnotic. |

It's a convincer as well as a reminder for the client. You give a short series of suggestions that they will find themselves noticing the color red and when they do it will remind them that they are happy they no longer smoke/eat only healthy amounts/feel better about themselves/whatever they came in to work on.
There is a lot of red colored things around and the suggestion often works for a couple days. Great for convincing someone they were 'actually' hypnotized and a good reminder to boost their initial success. |

So,
When the client sees the colour red, the suggestion pops into their head?
Example, see a red apple and remember - I do not need to smoke anymore? Am I right in assuming it is a conscious prompt?

The suggestion is given while they client is in 'trance', so it is a subconscious prompt that is realized consciously? |

Sounds good.
So when they see the colour red, they dont know why - but think , consciously, about the suggestion?

When they see the color red, they notice it being 'more noticeable, brighter, and more vivid'. This reminds them of the session and their goals. Just a visual trigger to a 'thought' and emotional response. They remember the session.
I think you asked in another thread about people remembering the session? They should remember the session. You want them to remember the session. |
