| I am so so glad I found this web site to talk to other people about my phobia, because most people think that I am nuts. For about 8 years I have had a phobia about bathrooms. I can not flush the toilet with my hand or even turn on the sink, brush my teeth, or even wash my hands in the bathroom either. I can't use the bathroom in public or at someone I know house. I use to have to clean the bathroom up myself and I would cut the light off to clean, now someone else does it for me even my friends and family will do it if they can. I know it sounds crazy but I don't know what else to do, I have even (don't laugh) wrote Dr. Phil to help me. It is now to a point where it is affecting my life and it is bugging me. I also don't won't my child to become this way either because my child is getting older and is able see it now. There are also other issues I have with the bathroom. So if there is anyone out there that can help me please reply. |

| There is nothing wrong with your mind, it is working perfectly to protect you from something, and change is required for it to work in a different direction. Yes you can be helped, but not online. You need local help, and should search your yellow pages for a practitioner who prefferably is skilled in phobias. A psycologist, or medical doctor who practises hypnosis would be fine, as well as a highly skilled lay practitioner. Phobias are easily eradicated by a skilled person, so don;t hesitate to ask questions before choosing whom you wish to work with. |
