Howdy all,
Have noticed many variations in how people approach helping people to quit smoking using hypnotherapy.
How do you do it, what approach?
What do you cover in the pre talk?
Anyone use the steel ball script?

Your right, thats why I want to screen those who want free hypnotherapy.
Make them earn their free ticket, more about getting them to invest in the sessions.
Will kepp you updated on sucesses / failures I get.

Yes, free and less 'investment' in their success. I did not keep stats on the free people but I'd guess it was close to 30%. If so, it's still much better than any other option. The only medical help that would match is Chantix, but 1/3 of people get side effects from that.
Changing the world is a worthwhile cause :) |

Can I ask, why did you have low sucess rates?
Maybe too easy for them as it was free and ? less commitment?
Maybe those that pay have more 'invested'?
Interesting.
Was planning to make them earn the session, by me interviewing them prior to being accepted.
Wanna change peoples smoking habits, save the world, ha ha

Andy,
That would be pretty cool of you to do. Very challenging as well. I've done free sessions, and the people that would make use of that have been difficult for me. Lower success rate and not as cooperative. Very frustrating for me.
If a person became more familiar with the issues involved I suppose that could become easier?
Or, possibly just being able to offer the help would be worth it? |

Hi,
Am doing casual work as a hypnotist, working full time as counsellor for mental health services.
Just noticed lots of people looking for help with smoking cesation.
I am different as I work for free, accept no gifts. I only accept 'needy' people and those unable to afford professional input.
Looking at setting up free stop smoking clinics in area.
Poorer people need to reassess their spending habits, fruit not fags!!

Are you asking out of personal curiosity or professional? Are you going to start working with smokers?
