Here's the story...from October 2005.
I drove down from Northern California to Southern California to clean out my room in the apartment I was vacating. For some reason, I couldn't(wouldn't) eat on the way down. As soon as we got to our destination, I went to the store and bought a fifth of gin and went to Carl's Jr for a value meal. I went back to my room and ate. Then, I took two shots of the Gin. Only two shots.
Next thing I know, I am bleeding out of my left hand in the middle of the apartment complex. True Story.
I was told that I broke the window in my room (punhed it) and that I 'jumped' out of my second story window. I suffered no injury beside the cut. The cut was clean. There were no other scars on my hand.
I ended up in a hospital and stitches.
The complete lack of memory in the mentioned experience occurred after the eating of the fast food and the ingesting of two shots of gin. Keep in mind...only two shots, though no food was ingested after the shots. Seeing as I was in the process of moving out, I set up my 'temporary bed' and that is where memory fails. Memory picks back up in the middle of the walk way in the middle of the apartment complex.
I do not recall leaving my room, much less the apartment. I do not recall hitting the window, which I was told was what happened. When memory picked back up I can recall having a sense of urgency, like I was running aaway from something. I even continued to avoid people as I tried to register the fact that I was indeed bleeding quite profusely (nine stitches).
Now, here are the inconsistencies:
I am right handed. If I were to lash out in a drunken stupor (by the way, I have no history of violent behaviour when I drink; I have been told that I merely get more verbose and happy) then I would have likely lashed out with my right hand. The cut is on my left hand.
There was only one cut on my hand. If I had smashed through the window, I would have likely many more cuts all over the hand. Incidentally, when I returned to the hospital for the check-up a day or two later, A man walked out while I was in the waiting room with his whole hand wrapped up. As well, the single cut was a single line down the center of my palm (not on the outside of my hand which would be expected if I had punched the window since one closes to a fist when hitting) and completely clean; try cutting something with a jagged piece of glass that has lost it's stability...there should have been jagged edges to the skin.
I was told that I had jumped out of the window. Now I can understand that people when they are drunk can walk on broken limbs for a short while because they can't feel the pain. But I was only treated for the cut and not any sprains or aches elsewhere. There were no other bruising and or limps. This last summer I was at the Ren Faire, again, and was considerably drunk when I decided that I was going to follow suit with everyone and swing off the "pseudo pirate ship" that I had helped build. I needed crutches for two weeks and the fall was less than two stories. And I recall every moment of that experience to walking away, despite the fact that I had ingested a considerable amount more alcohol then the experience in question.
My thoughts on the matter are that I did not break the window, that I was hypnotized. There are many other instances in my life that support the belief that I have regarding the fact that I could have been impacted by a third party, which can be found here...[MODERATOR REMOVED LINK]
The reason I post this here is because I am wondering, based on what I have stated (even if you don't believe it could you please consider my question as if it is true, please?), do you think that hypnosis could be used to obtain some memories from the blacked out portion of that night?
It is an experience that has continued to bother me through these years as my logical thoughts on the matter contradict what I was told...and the implications are pretty important to me.

Do you blackout often when drinking?
A chemical/alcohol blackout is extremely unlikely to have any memory to retrieve. It is a physiological issue.
If you broke a window and jumped out of a second floor, you should have more injuries than you describe.
It is absurdly unlikely hypnosis would achieve the events you describe.
Much more likely a chemical/drug induced amnesia. |
