hi folks
im returning to using self hypnosis after a break. i successfully used self hypnosis in the past. i learned self hypnosis after visiting a qualified hypnotherapist which gave me remarkable results, the hypnoterapist provided me with an anchor to help me get into a trance but recommened self hypnosis by charles tebbits and my fascination started from there.
im returning to self hypnosis with renewed vigour and intend to master it more than before. i would like to tap into the experience of some of the posters on here as it seems a better place to get feedback and advice.
when i first used self hypnosis i used a combination of inductions to put myself into trance. i used progressive relaxtion then visualised a scene with my five senses, then counted backwards and the last of all used the elevator deepener. to test my depth i ask my sub concious mind to touch my face with my hand.
i intend to use a quicker induction like the betty erickson from now on.
on the odd occassion i used a tape and even got to the stage of making my own but i find doing it without a tape conditions you better.
a couple of simple questions if you dont mind.
when using self hypnosis before i used my inner voice to guide myself into trance, do you use the same technique?, would you use your inner voice to tell your self that your left leg is limp loose and lazy or would you just make your leg limp loose and lazy without speaking to yourself.
also what is the best way to give myself an anchor the get myself down to deep level quickly.

the tebbit book does not mention a rapid induction.i will set an anchor like you said when i am at my deepest stage. thanks again. |

For myself... I taught myself a self-hypno anchor using an Elman induction. I can pinch my thumb and forefinger together and be a a good depth in about 20 seconds. I use my inner-voice very little... i tend to communicate directly with a part.. like my leg, or whatever.
Didn't Tibbets teach a rapid induction like his student, Hunter uses now? |
