Hello,
I have been trying self hypnosis for about 10 weeks now using relaxing music and self hypnosis cds. I have not reached much relaxtion yet and dont find any obvious change to my life.
I understand the concept of the conscious and subconscious mind which I find fascinating hence my perserverance with it. Sometimes I do get a feeling of relaxtion and my body starts to feel very light but this only lasts for a few seconds.I find it difficult to imange things of how I should feel if I was relaxed etc.Is there an object like a spiral wheel or something that might help me?
Please let me know if you have suggestions to could help me in getting that feeling of total relaxation?

Consider this if your doing self hypnosis who are you talking too?
Now the word trust as come up, so who are your trying to "trick" by doing conversational hypnosis? "Yourself" right there in lies the issue with doing conversational self hypnosis- there's a breach of trust with yourself. when you're doing self hypnosis you need to be direct and specific- with what you want. the brain understands direct suggestions- and when your doing self hypnosis - its ok to be direct with yourself- now if your working with someone else then conversational hypnosis is a very useful skill set, yet its npt needed when working with yourself.
