I was wondering what techniques you can use to practice self hypnosis. I have been given some pretty ineffective techniques by supposed "qualified" hypnotists that seem to do nothing for me. I want to be able to go into and enjoy somnambulism by myself.
Can anyone help?

I've found that the only way to practice self hypnosis is to simply do it. Luckily I've devoted a lot of time and energy to hypnosis. Because of my continual pursuit of being able to have a powerful self hypnosis trigger, I finally figured out how to make practicing self hypnosis enjoyable.
The first thing to understand is that the quality of your hypnosis, as with anything in life, is made better and better by continual practice. This means going through the motions day after day if you want to be able to achieve deeper states. Of course, enlisting the services of a professional who can help anchor a very deep state of hypnosis to your self hypnosis trigger is one of the best and quickest ways to achieving success with a self hypnosis trigger.
I am my own hypnotist and I've designed a recording to do just that. (By the way, this is usually done by getting into a deep state and then practicing the trigger. That way, the trigger is automatically associated to that level of depth.) Repeated practice produces even better results. And now, my simple trigger can immediately bring me into a state of relaxing hypnosis whenever I want. And all the practice and time invested has been worth it.
